Says the guy who overpaid 20k for his lancer.

The RS4 is about 30 times the car an Evo is. If someone had the keys to both and offered one of the other, youd pick the rs4 any day of the year. Just sit in one, and tell me it isint worth the money, let alone drive one.

RS4 is so sick, and the performance level, combined with the luxuriousness is just amazing.

I love these apples to oranges comparisons.

As always liking or not liking a car is based on what you do with it. Just because a car sells for 75K does not make it better or even 30 times better than another car.

I buy my cars based on functionality, fun to drive, and ability on a race track. This 4000 lb Audi is neat but more about bling and looking like money on the street. Granted it has a lovely V8 and is quite nice to drive but it really doesn't do it for me.

If I had to pick and spend money on either I would pick the Evo again . It just does everything I want very well. If I wanted to show my neighbors how much money I had then maybe the RS4.

Bring a stock IX and an RS4 to a race track and the IX will walk away from it and feel good doing it. The Audi will absolutely consume both tires and brakes after about 4 laps.

The thing that gets me is that for 75K there are a lot of other cars I would buy instead -- Used 996TT comes to mind.

I guess it just comes down to what you value.

Sorry, but for $75k it had better look like this rather than something the trophy wife wants to drive:

Every RS4 I have seen on the street was driven by a woman -- just an observation

Thats a ridiculous comment. No one is going to have the choice of owning an evo or an RS4 for the same price. If you offer me the keys to a base A4 versus an evo, ill take the evo almost every time....but thats me.

FWIW, I know many-a-people in the OEM car community that have driven RS4's. Although I have not driven one myself (as I'm sure most people in this thread have not either)...I can say that NONE have been impressed with the performance of the vehicle. Every one said the car feels no-where close to what a 420 hp car should feel like. But I'm not going to pass judgement myself until I drive one myself.

No ****. Yet everyone here seems to think the Evo has suddenly become Gods chariot. The RS4 is a better car. Period. Its got every option, Audi doesnt follow the less is more philosophy. Its a NA V8 that has to share its power with 4 wheels, of course it feels slower than most other 420hp cars. You own an Evo right? So you understand drivetrain losses?

Anyone who owns an Evo bought their Evo because it was a performance bargain at its price point, thats all the Evo offers. Performance. The base A4 is an entry level luxury car. The RS4 is a luxury, performance sedan. Its made to be extremely comfortable, be stable at high speeds, have great brakes, and handle great. It offers way way way more to anyone who can afford it.

Lower your tone, boss. Everyone here is having a friendly conversation yet you seem to be getting way too heated about....a car...which none of us own...on the internet.

I agree with you on most of your generalized points. I just think you need to realize that some people...scratch that....most people who could afford a car like that don't think the car is as good as others in its price segment, for whatever reason....or youd see more on the road. And you can't fault them for that...or get mad about it...or think they are stupid or whatever. They just see it a little different, thats all.

But whatever. Its a very cool car, plain and simple.

Lower my tone? STFU. Its a post...thats typed. There isint such thing as "tone," in text. But thanks though. I couldnt live without you not liking my "tone" in my post. See the clever use of emotes here. This is an aid for "tone," or emphasis. If you'll notice I didnt use any of those in my earlier post. I wasn't even agitated when I made my other post.

Also. Its a free country. If you dont like my "tone" dont read my posts.

Now have a coke and a smile, and STFU little kid.

Be careful there...I havn't seen the two go head-to-head in anything. I think the RS-4 is definitely going to do more than hold its own against a stock evo.

Yes, I would pick the RS4, sell it and and get an EVO! Got some chash to spend on mods, and some extra for a DD. The RS4 is NOT 30x the car an EVO is, it is in a different market segment. Get your facts staight. Apples to Apples, not oranges.

I use to be a parking valet for many years and can tell you audis are definately nice luxury cars but are MUCH more luxury then performance regardless of you one you get. They also seem to be lacking in quaility compared to their BMW and MERCEDES counterparts. On top of all that they have lots of electrical gremlins and nearly ever single one I've seen has at least one non working power window.
