Audi RS4
Audi RS4
I decided to just take a look at it for ****s and giggles, boy was i dissapointed. For a 70+ k car, it just doesn't have the appeal. It sure is nice, but not 70k nice. Anyone else think so as well? I'd much rather get a porsche or skyline when it comes out.
I'm waiting for the new RS5, the S5's and A5's are beautiful.
Supposedly the RS5 should have a twin turbo V8 or a V10..
*fingers crossed* TT V8.. TT V8..
*edit*
Oh, and I agree somewhat with what your saying about the RS4, however, it is faster than an E46 M3 on a road course. The Bimmer does give up 87hp, 2 cylinders and doesn't have AWD.
I will give Audi engineers a lot of credit though, for a 4000lbs+ car it doesn't feel like it, but if you can afford an RS4 you could almost certainly afford an M5.

That's what I thought when I saw the specs on the RS4. But honestly, $70k isn't what it used to be anymore. The new M3 will probably be close to $70k, and the 911s are $80k+.
Maybe it's time for Audi to make turbo-ed cars again. The old RS4 was sick!

Are you kidding me? You will NOT buy a nicer car for the money. The RS4 comes standard with more features than you can shake a stick at (anyone here know ANYTHING about Audi before running their mouth?!?) If you look at the Dynamic Ride Control, the brakes, the fact that most of the car is aluminum, amazing interior quality, overall fantastic build quality, a 4.2L V8 w/ 420hp and a torque curve that you could serve dinner to a family of 15 on...I could go on all day. It is so much car for the money its unbelievable. 911's start in the 70's but it's a totally different car. How many cars can you drive to the racetrack with your family and the trunk full of luggage...race all day...then drive home safely. BTW the new M3 with the V8 will be priced along the same lines as the RS4. I don
t possibly see how you could be disappointed for the money. It just turns my stomach at the fact that you just "looked" at the car and said that. Did you even notice how wide the freakign thing is in comparison to the rest of Audi's A4's/S4's? Or the fact that you can engage the S mode for more aggressive engine response and throttle response along with heightened exhaust performance?
I have to stop before I blow a gasket

I agree, and i know you know your **** because you play with them and the porsches every day...
I would take the RS4 any day of the week for over all value over the evo...
Think about it..
Evo = $15,000 lancer + $15,000 drive train ....
RS4= $40,000 A4 + $30,000 (performance + luxury)
The cars are apples and oranges except for the AWD aspect of it..
Talk about something that you can do 100+mph and feel safe in it.. I dont know to many other cars that are proven to roll 8 times and the cabin stays intact, and the doors still open..
The RS4 might be eleventy billion pounds, but it is still a quick car and has amazing power... Not to mention everyone knows that Audi/VW tune them cars SOOO conservatively that almost ANY tuner and chip making manufacture gets another 35/50 whp and 80+ LQ
(look at the old BI turbo S4's yea i know they are turbo but with just a chip they gain +60 HP, +110 ft/lbs torque)
No offense but the EVO is a kids car (dont flame, but it is) and the RS4 is a mans car...
I disagree also. The Audi is a beautiful car and the brakes are straight off the Gallardo (8 piston front calipers with cross drilled rotors) It is at the top of the list for a luxury car if I were to buy one. It is ridiculous to compare it to a Porsche because the are two completely different types of cars. Have you ever seen the back seat of a Porsche? It's not meant for people. An RS4 is a family car that is meant for having fun. And who in there right mind would compare it to a corvette?! If you were shopping for one you would definately not be looking at the other. You might as well say buy a motorcycle and save 60K. the only thing I didn't like about the RS4 is that it wasn't a turbo. But that is just my preference. Also 4000lbs for a luxury car is not that bad especially when it doesn't handle like it. It ran similar track times to a Porsche Caymen which is much much smaller
The Audi RS4 is an impressive machine for something thats porky. Its really nimble. Best of all, the impressive build quality, and the handsomely designed exterior. Truly a work of art. On the other hand, if the A5/S5 came out earlier than the 335i, I wouldve done my business with Audi instead of Bimmer. Love the way the A5/S5 looks, gorgeous. Cant wait for the RS5.
The RS4 is a beautiful machine. It is the ultimate family-hauling/weekend-warrior machine. M5 seems too... big? Idk how to put it, but it's in a different league (not necessarily better, just different).
It does seem like all of the rivals are gaining weight, the 3-Series has been gaining weight in every generation since the E30.

damn don't have to jump down my throat, you would think i committed a travisty by saying it wasn't worth the 75K price tag!
