Why. The subie drivetrain is stout. And the Ej25 has only been around for like 4 years...compared to the 4g's what 17 years? An evo with a tranny half as strong as an Sti's would be amazing.

Lets not talk interiors either. Comparing an Evo interior to a Sti interior is like comparing Miller to Coors. Both are cheap and nasty.

good lord... that WRX looks horrible!! STI I like the front end, but rear hatch I'm not a fan of- maybe it will grow on me.... but probably not

Taste is subjective, but this move to go to a hatch doesn't surprise; look at most of the WRC platform vehicles; a majority are hatchback.
