new here, here's my supercharged 350Z
How did you lose 200lbs plus the weight of the supercharger???
That's lighter than an Evo!
thanks guys
I honestly didn't think people would say much about my car here
the new Z's are 3350-3400 lbs - really heavy
mine is an 03 track model which nissan says is 3225 lbs stock.
I'm saying 3150 lbs when I'm racing with a half tank of gas. Full tank is probably around 3200-3220 lbs
so I guess it's a little misleading because all cars can run with a half tank of gas
The supercharger added about 80 lbs, but I've removed a ton of crap from the car and also several of my mods weigh a LOT less than stock such as
-clutch/flywheel is 30 lbs less
-headers and HF cats are 20 lbs less
-intake manifold 10 lbs less
-rotors, solid motor mounts, crank pulley, lighter tires, lighter battery = 30 lbs
-removed rear wiperhatch weight, rear speakers, lots of sound deadening, rear plastic covering in the hatch, misc plastic parts, subwoofer plate, etc = 15-20 lbs less
-CF seat = 12 lbs (will get CF passenger seat soon though for another 12 lbs)
-I've probably added around 30 lbs of other stuff like my coilovers, braces, sway bar, radiator, oil cooler, water injection, etc
I've tried to redistribute weight from the front to the rear as best I can - like relocating the battery. fiberglass hood saved 4-5 lbs up front, but rear spoiler added about 4-5 lbs
I haven't been cornerweighted or weighed yet so I'm just guessing based off of nissan's curb weight, but there's been guys with fewer lightening mods than me and a FI kit still weigh in at less than 3200 at the drag strip - probably 1/4-1/3 tank of gas
sure am
under the same screen name
actually I'm pretty much on most of the Z sites

^ Yup, recognize your name now. I'm sure you seen me over there in an Evo vs. Z thread... LOL.
Boomn29, Z's don't weigh as much as the websites say. Went to a track day with a bunch of Z's... my Evo weighed in at 3190 with 3/4 tank of gas and no weight reduction. All of the non-convertible Z's consitently weighed in around 100lbs less than me... some even more.

Those manufacturer weights are sometimes inaccurate also. My MR, supposedly the heaviest model according to Mitsu, should weigh in at 3,285. The car came in at 3,145 with just under 1/2-tank of fuel when it was cornerweighted at RobiSpec.
