I am glad more people started to recognize this car. Nothing wrong with the Evo X, it is a great car but as I anticipated a few months ago BMW was going to offer a great true performance car for the masses.

If the 335i is already an outstanding performer then expect the 135i to top it up a bit more.

I actually called the main Mitsubishi dealer in LA(the one that always advertizes here) and they gave me some ballpark of estimated MSRPs on the Evo X that I did not like it. Slowly but surely the BMW 135i will be the absolutely direct competitor to the Evo X.

Direct competitor to the X. The 135i is suppose to run 0-60 in around 4.4.qrt mile in 13 flat, and will handle great. Both cars bone stock the BMW will eat the X in every category IMO except the handling dept. Just my opinion from what i,ve been reading about both cars.Time will tell.

^^^Roger that. I created a comparisson based on the performance numbers of boths cars. So far hands down the 135i over whelmingly gets better acceleration numbers and equals and in some cases slightly surpasses the braking perfromance of the Evo X but the Evo X still gets a very high and hard to beat .97G.

It is too early to compare them yet because the first couple of test the Evo X hasn't had really favorable acceleration numbers and that is why I am being conservative with my comments. What is no mistery is that the 135I put a very very high reference to beat(everything).

I am hoping for the best and I am still waiting for a good Evo X road test in which we can see some sub 5 sec 0-60mph and some low 13 sec 1/4 mile times..

I don't want to ruin no ones dreams but I am one of the many thousands of Evo X fans that were expecting a mid 12 sec 1/4 car and a mid 4 sec 0-60mph times, so far it hasn't happened yet nor it looks like it would occur in stock trim.

So many Evo 9 owners skepticals about the Evo X and after all they had all the rights to have their reservations..

They have updated the site for the 1 series. It is now a whole webpage and not just a mini pop up page. There's lots more to see and do, enjoy!

Good news for anyone worrying about not having an LSD for this car.. it's going to be offered directly from BMW as a "performance product":

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1960

I still think too many people obsess with whether a car has LSD or not, 95% of us will never even drive the car in a way which benefits much from having one.

They have a typo in that downloadable brochure. Check the weight they have listed for the 135i. Pretty funny.

I'm just afraid of the one wheel peel, and more info on the 135tii plus the official press release (still no pricing though...):

I went talk to a bmw salesman yesterday and he told me the 135 will be under $40,000. Which sounds like a great deal to me.
