This guy read in my post correctly. I am planning on foregoing the purchase of an evoX, and will pick up a GTR in a couple of years.

Nice read

When you compare car to car in stock form, yeah so what, the car is faster, blah, blah, but when you spend half the money to upgrade the X, not to mention the weight difference, the GTR will be a distant memory in the rear view mirror. Plenty of people have proven that they can take an RS bought for 17-20k, drop another 10-15 in it, and have something that will rip anything on the streets, and many many things on the track. I can't wait to see some cheeseball in a GTR pull up to a plain jane looking RS and get ripped trying to show off his new "high performance car". If you want to compare stock for stock you can compare the X against any car that is twice the price with that much more power and say "it's gonna get owned", however it isn't logical. Here's an apple and here's an orange...seriously. Can we at least try to stay in the same 10k range to compare cars?

I have read that the GTR will come in an Evolution trim package.

CF hood, CF roof, CF trunk, and a few other weight reduction features. I believe it will be around 90g's plusssss.

There you have it, Future EVO Models

lol

Simple.
People are reading different stories.
The numbers are not solid on the GTR, either.
I am hearing a very broad range of prices.

To RIO-EVO.
I feel you.
Well understood.
I'm really commenting on the thoughts of 3000ways.

What I am surprised that I haven't heard anyone complain about, that it's a DSG tranny.
Nobody even raised an eyebrow to that.
While everyone complains about the X going auto, no one mentioned that the GTR has the same idea.

So far the only car that is remaining close to it's heritage is the new STI.

Feel me?

Wrong forum.

Reserving judgment until I see one in the flesh.

Opinions in general are all subjective and one person may like something where as someone else will hate it. IMO, I like both the Evo X and the GTR. The thing you need to realize is that both these cars are in different categories. For one, the Evo is meant to be a rally car and the GTR is meant to be a road car. If I were shopping for an Evo, I will be comparing it against the STI. If I were shopping for a Porsche 911 Turbo, I may consider getting a GTR because it's cheaper and offers better performance (according to Nissan).

I love the evo, and I can't wait til I build my next one but for those who say how are you comparing a 30-35k car to an 80-90k car...

How many thread have you read that our cars outperform most that are double the cost......

Or my modded evo beat a lambo......

I mean come on guys.... just being hypicritical much??

take it for what it is, nowhere in the original post did he even say anything about comparing it to the evo 10.....

You damn right the GT-R owns the EVO, it better for what you pay, come on haters you guys are just getting stupid now.

You see I want to understand you haters, but I just wish you guys had half a brain
I'll play devil's advocate. The Evo has ALWAYS been compared to higher-priced performance cars and exotic sports cars. It's part of it's charm that for $30K you get a car that can hang with (and sometimes beat) a car that costs way more. We've all seen the Murcielago video.

So, why can't this guy compare the new GT-R to the new Evo X

The GT-R is a wonderful car...it's about time it finally comes to our shore. If I had the coin for it, my Evo would be long gone...

About the DSG issue, there was a thread on here somewhere a couple weeks back where people were complaining about the DSG-only tranny. Much in the same way they are complaining about the Evo MR and it's SST tranny. I think that GT-R thread got moved or deleted

I must say, Nissan did a great job on the instrument cluster. I love the information center and the data it puts out. "I don't believe" that any other car on the market give the driver that type of information feed back.

I really like the interior and the finish.

There is no doubt that I have lost the love I used to have for my car, but after owning evos for almost 5 years i think its time to move on to bigger and better things. I haven't looked a X thread b/c the car doesn't interest me.

The GTR is a awesome machine and if its anything like their old models, it will become a legend in the aftermarket.
