I had an 87 GN, got stolen in 1989, before I could afford to modify it.

Does anyone remember the guy that had the Hyundai Tiburon with 2 turbo'd engines, 1 in the front and 1 in the rear? He had 2 separate auto trannies so he could have them both in the same gear. He also didn't have an intercooler because he was running straight meth and therefore the intake charge was already pretty cooled down.

He ended up having to travel to different states to get money races as everyone in his state knew the car and eventually no one would accept races against him as the whole country found out about the car and what it was capable of.

He was in one of the first Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street Challenges. Pretty much this car was what I consider to be an ultimate sleeper.

That's sick... too bad it will probably rust out. Isn't a 240sx motor a truck motor?

There are some sweet cars mentioned and posted in this thread!

BUT....the MS3, GN, and turbo teggy should not count towards sleepers for obvious reasons.

Anyone who knows or has interest in cars will most likely know of or about the above mentioned cars and what those cars are doing stock and modded. If you are gonna go ahead and say..."well, the majority still don't know what my car is capable of", then I guess my EVO should fall under the sleeper catagory since I still have plenty of non-enthusiast asking me what kind of car it is, and then get surprised at the power out of a 4 door family car.

Keep those sleepers coming!!!!!!!

Wow, a whole 3 years?

GN's went into production in 84 and the GNX was made for 87 model year.

I am not going to count the handfull of 82 GN's because they were not turbocharged and not black.

I totally understand what your saying. I guess my thinking was, people who think honda or acura see an integra and assume it has a fart can on it and that's it. I don't think many assume when they see one that it has 515whp. I do agree with you though there are alot of car guys who aren't surprised by their potential so I guess it wouldnt be considered a sleeper car in general.

No, as in they are still taking people's money, 20-something years later. Last I checked 1987 WAS 20 years ago.
