GTR too much mark up $$$$$$$$$$$$$
GTR too much mark up $$$$$$$$$$$$$
My local Nissan stealership is getting three GTR's. The salesperson I spoke with did not have alot of info but called me back after speaking with the General Manager. He said that they were going to go for $100,000-$120,000 (that's 30-50K over MSRP)
. They are wanting $10,000 deposits on these vehicles but have none spoken for yet. At this price, I hope they never sell. But we all know that some people have more money than they know what to do with.

Just be patient. They'll be going for sticker in less than a year. This happens with all the hot cars. Anyone remember WRXs going for $35k? They did for the first month, but I bought my wagon after 4 months for sticker.
I was planning on waiting anyway. Let them work the bugs out and see what the v-spec will look like. It just makes me mad that the dealerships can get away with this. The wii gaming system is in huge demand but it's first come first serve at the retailers. They sell for regular price but you have to wait in a line in a tent outside the Best Buy. I would wait outside the Nissan dealership in a tent for a couple of days to buy one at MSRP

Same thing happened with the Evos and especially the MRs when they first came out. I usually wait until all the quirks are resolved before buying a car. Besides, if you wait a bit, you can usually get it for under sticker.

Why would anyone doubt there would be crazy dealer mark up? This has happened with every new hot car on the market. It's not rocket science. But, just like very other car, they will eventually sell for sticker.
true but nissan is only importing 1000(?) or so GTRs per year... it could be hard to get one....
I think the markups will be around for a while.
I don't think you can compare WRX / Evo markups compared to the GT-R since Nissan is only bringing a limited quantity to the US.
Even the Shelby GT500's still have markups (not as high as before), though you can find some @ MSRP.
