240sx Help
240sx Help
Alright guys, I got my 240sx. Unfortunately everything in the engine bay was disconnected, there was no radiator and or battery. I precede to purchase the battery and hook everything up and all of the lights turn on. I try and crank the car over and it's a no go, the second attempt I try it and a small flame shoots out from the front of the passenger side, I step out and look on the ground and it is now covered with oil. Is my engine now completely dead? and should I be looking for an SR20? or can I still fix this engine for a fraction of the cost, and just swap another engine later on when the engine completely dies?

I'd stick with the KA... plenty of potential, and plenty cheap to find replacements.
Well, check to see if you in fact have a H.I.B = Hole-in-block. If not, then check for fuel and spark and go from there.
If you have any local junkyards, check those for KA motors...there are plenty around where I live. I got a complete engine, including wiring harness, and all accessories for $200.
I'm currently running a Garrett 57 trim turbo on that stock engine that has 100k and it's loads of fun. KAs are plentiful and cheap as was mentioned. SRs are fairly easy to obtain but much more expensive, they can also blow up and the cost of replacement is much more as well.
Good luck.
