What if u sell/trade the EVO and start regretting? What about keeping the EVO and save up for an M3?

EVO for the WW.
M3 for the Daily Grinder.

If you want luxury, It's a good move. I think they look better than the new ones. Girls agree.

I work with them every day. The 335 also.

They are nice. Just not my thing. Since cars are all opinionated i would just suggest test driving one.
Stay away from any '01's who may have had the bad bearings. (engines were blowing up).

If you like it just make sure you get one in good condition (like any other car).

They have no torque at all. But fun on the high way or upper rpm's.

najeeb, have you seen any recent smg m3's in our area for a decent price?

I did autotrader and there were virtually none i'd actually consider paying that much for....(your thread got me interested in m3's, haha)

There is a lot of debate with SMG, some people like it some don't. The shifting can feel rough at lower speeds from what I've read, but other than that it's not bad. The nice thing about SMG is that there's no horsepower robbing torque converter like BMW's steptronic. I don't think you can go wrong with the M3, I'd take one for a spin and see if you like it.

smg is awsome till your car doesn't start and makes a grinding noise when in neutral than sits at motorwerks for 6 months till the dealer decides to just replace the WHOLE thing.

/end rant/

I personally love e46s. the look, handling is not bad, feels verry stiff. You turbo charge that thing or supercharged and i bet you wont miss your evo

fun summer car, interior is super nice and everything looks solid inside.

that is quite sexy

Thanks for the headsup!

Any other issues you came across that might be worth mentioning?

I have seen a bunch on ebay, and on the forums as well. Haven't checked auto trader yet lol.

They are still quite expensive, I'm wondering if the price will go down a bit once the E92/E90 M3's have been out for a few months.

I did not like the seats on the M3- went to sales training for Ferrari (lol) and told them that I was not driving my car and they would have to pay for gas, they said to drive the M3 that was just traded in- it was an hour drive and my a$$ was sore as hell- BTW sending someone to sales training for Ferrari was like sending a fish to swim class

Not really. Every car has a few needs after time (wear and tear) no major concerns i can think of.

But there might be more qualified people to talk to in regards to maintenence.

Im in the Forced Induction field for these cars www.activeautowerke.com .
I can help you out with that kind of stuff.
