Perfect!

What can you tell me about supercharging the M?

What kinda power? what supporting mods? and most importantly.. how much does it cost?

^^All you need to know is its $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. For the price of an exhaust, chip, intake you could have your AMS turbokit. For the price of reliable charger plus tune, supporting mods well....thats basically a fully built evo with big turbo.

$500-$1000 on the tune, depending on which company you go with and what parts you have installed.

Exhausts go from $1100 to $3000, depending on the brand you go with.

KW coilovers will run you about $2000.

Parts are not cheap, but not ridiculously more expensive than parts for Evo. However, there won't be cheapo Megan Racing parts.

If you decide to go down the path of superchargers/turbos, be prepared to spend. The kits alone can cost you $10,000

If your looking for power stick with the Evo. If your looking for a nice looking/luxiours/quick car than go with M3.

The SMG has different modes. There are sport mode, automatic mode, and paddle shifters. In sport mode/ shifting using the paddle or lever. You have S1,S2,S3,S4,S5,S6 that is the manual mode. The S1 is the slowest shifting mode and S6 is the fastest shifting mode (.08 of a second). Than automatic mode instead of S1 etc.... its A1, A2 etc..... you dont have to shift all you do is floor it like a automatic.

Than the SMG has launching mode. It does a perfect launch at 1800 RPMs. You have to hold the lever in the negative position in S6. Than you let go of the lever and it lauches away for you.

F/I in a M3 is very expensive. They dont have any traction btw and you cant fit wide tires on them or a stronger rear end. The fastest E46 M3 only ran a 11.6 to date due to traction problems and it had over 600+RWHP.

Horsepowerfreak came out with a turbo kit for the E46 M3 which cost around 18 grand. They are making 650RWHP on boost alone on the stock motor.

Or you can contact Active Autowekes and get a SC'er for around 10 grand. it will make over 400 RWHP but you wont have any traction and it will only be fast from a roll.

Tecknik, VF engeering, and some other company's make superchargers for the E46 M3 all going for over 8 Grand. Thats with no guages clutch etc.....

If your looking for a good DD than go with the M3. If your looking to mod stick with the Evo. It is way to pricy to mod a M3.

As far as the bearing issues for the 2001 E46 M3's BMW had a recall done on that problem. Most of the bearing issues on the 2001 M3 have been fixed by the dealers free of charge. You always get a low milage 2001 M3 just make sure to check to see if it had the recall done.

Just get the M3 with a warranty BMW's warranty are the best. They take care of brakes, oil changes etc......

Hope my info helped!

You may not be as fast as an Evo, but with a few tasteful exterior mods you can roll in this ....

Its a true bolt on kit. Meaning you can install (~15 hours of labor) it today and remove it next month and there will be no proof it was ever there. We tune through the factory dme Tuning is included. These kits have been on the market since 2003. We have them world wide.

Level 1 is ~420 rwhp and level 2 is ~ 450-475 depending on exhaust, etc...

level 1 is $9400 if you get one i can prob do like ~$7800 on that same kit.

I am also considering the same thing, check the video's out at the bottom of the page. Also Active Autowerks has a kit coming out, look for TazaM3 (sick car)!

TazaM3's is a custom turbo kit from AA which costs over $50,000, it has a big turbo and a built head I believe. It made 836 RWHP and it couldnt run decent times. He got some M/T slicks and broke his rear end by trying to launch, now its at Active Autowerks to get some more power.

If you want real power from a M3 with not to much money this is what you want to do.

Ebay headers which cost $200 shipped
Custom straight pipe
Intake cone filter
Lots of weight reduction
Custom chip for nitrous tune
150 shot of nitrous
AEM Uego to watch ur AFR's
Get some Nitto drag radials.

This combination can beat cammed ZO6, KB Cobra's, Evo's, Big turbo STI's etc.... from a roll!

If you dont believe me look up bOkIM3 at E46fanatics.com he's got a real quick nitrous M3! You will need to spend about $3 grand.
