Completely forgot, you could get a Smart FourTwo, as well. They're cheap and have a great safety rating, so insurance should be reasonable.

Those tiny little things have a good crash rating? That's pretty hardcore lol. Is it only a 2 seater?

And her insurance is weird (American Family) they won't allow anyone over 25 to insure an evo since it's a high performance car or something lol.

But im trying to make her get a jdm front integra with a built ls turbo.

Mazda3 sedan, better than all cars listed.

The A3 is nice but our 2006 A4 is falling to shreads, we're replacing it with a Lancer GTS.
Expect things to go south after 30,000 miles. DSG service is really expensive too.

honda fit. i got 42mpg highway w/ the cruise control set @ 65. i fit 9 tires and two of my deployment tough boxes in it. the other day, with the boss and her dad, we still managed to fit about 375lbs of ikea furniture, to include a set that measured 8.5' long as an internal load in the car and her and her dad sitting in the back seat.

plus the turn-in is incredible. it changes direction faster than my evo, and my evo has a set of robispec clubsports.

also, there was an article on msn featuring the cheapest cars to own. despite having an initial purchase price a couple thousand higher than the 3 door yaris or other korean cars in the same class, the fit ended up being the least expensive car to own over 5 years when gas, insurance, maintenance, AND initial purchase price were factored in.

then there's the spectacular turning radius, being able to find a parking space in the city incredibly quickly because of its small footprint, the fact that i have basically used it as a light duty truck, getting 36mpg at a cruise control governed speed of 72mph, did i mention the turn-in? it's the sort of car where the chassis is A LOT faster than the motor, so if you like dynamic cars, you'll have a ball.

oh yeah, it's a honda. which means that if you manage to remember to change the oil every other year, it should last no less than 15 years.

hahaha yeah she really wants a fit for some reason now. I was trying to get her to get an older car accord with a h22 or a integra but she wants a new car, that she'll keep for a while. The Fits look pretty cool with a drop and some rims.

for a beater if you like the style of the fit I don't think you can go wrong. Great MPG, many uses, honda built, and a top ten motor trend I think car for 08' With a set of wheels to make it look different I think you have a winner.

I was going to buy a Fit they seem great. Love the flexibility of the seating and storage ... but then I bought an Evo X instead lol!

Still keeping an eye on the Fits though for a daily driver ... Honda confirmed a hybrid Fit for model year 2010/2011.

I'll see if I can convince her to get an X then.

I'll let you guys know if she decides to go Fit or not.

Older S2K, anything Honda really. They are hard to beat for their reliability and great gas mileage.
