Who From You Guys Ordered GTRs?
I placed an order through a local dealership here in the Philippines for a solid red Nissan GT-R premium package, and they told me that the car will be ordered from a Nissan dealership in the US since it has to be LHD.
Some questions:
1. If you ordered, when is yours scheduled to be delivered? I heard I am in the 100s list already so I might get mine december yet.
2. When will they start selling it in the showrooms?
3. Who from you guys are getting their orders in December and what # are you on line?
My car was ordered from a Nissan dealership in San Francisco, dunno which one there and I need to know if I will be experiencing some delays. I am just so excited for the car.
I also heard that Nissan will be putting up specialized shops just for the GTRs around and with regards to aftermarket parts, Nissan will be accrediting manufacturers and all of them will all be in Japan.

Would you guys know around what number are you on the line? I heard Nissan will only be making 20 GTRs a day and they will all be coming from Japan since the cars are hand assembled.
Mine should be here in late June early July from what info I have as of now. I guess colors and base car or Premium option has something to do with which cars will arrive first. This is what I read on NAGTROC. So I do know how reliable it is.

MSRP + ??? -- I honestly don't know what those guys are going to be charging. At one time they had some figures, but sales departments change their minds all the time and when they were forecasting prices they were only expecting to get 2 GTR's.
I cant wait to see those in person.

Quote=rawandbruteEVO;5697299]Mine is solid red with premium package but I was told that I am on the 100s in line. I hope they bring in the premium packages first, I am really excited for it. I am just counting the days

You should be in good shape with the premium package but as far as the Red goes, wasn't that one of the last colors to be produced along with the Super Silver?
Oh wait your saying Nov -08 delivery. That sounds about right. I like the Red on the GT-R and if I went with that color I would color match the Back and sides but leave the front lip alone. JMO.

Some additional info from my friend in Japan who has test driven GTRs and is currently working for Freed Japan.
Owning a GT-R is not only about spending on buying it but moreover on maintaining it. Just like any supercar, to own one takes more than an arm and a leg.
- GT-Rs are not easy to modify. Change its rims, then the check light comes on. Change exhaust system and the checklight comes on.
- Nissan will be accrediting parts from aftermarket manufactuers. Therefore, you just cannot customize a pipe for your GT-R. You have to buy either an OEM Nismo part or a part that had been approved by Nissan for the GT-R.
- The car as it is is at its perfect tune and set-up. If it is to be set-up, Nissan will be puttng up designated shops to do the tuning or may be training mechanics. Example, if SP Engineering likes to tune the GTR, a mechanic will have to go to Japan to get some certification to tune the car. The GTR is a very delicate car and a wrong tune or part may disrupt the GTR's performance.
- Each GT-R is handmade and only 20 units per day will be produced. All cars will be coming from Japan and each country will be supplied a limited number of cars.

Same here. I've waited for a US spec GTR longer that I lusted for the VIII. I can wait another year or two if need be. Besides, it could turn out that the car is a ticking time bomb mechanically. A year on the market will wring all the bugs out and we'll know where it's weak points are.
