Just for the heck of it I called my insurance company (USAA) and requested a quote on a 2008 GTR. My insurance company told me that they go by VIN and manufacturer price.

I gave them the VIN number of 2 GTRs currently posted on autotrader:
JN1AR54F69M250163 (priced at "only" $120,000 even though is used)
JN1AR54F69M250518

The insurance would increase $125.29 over 6 months. My current insurance is $432 every 6 months so I guess the GTR is not as expensive I thought it was going to be($557 every 6 months). I can only think that the insurance companies will quickly adjust their rates on this car for lack of availability of parts(low production).

Well, that was my .2c, at least we have a ballpark on insurance rates, something very often not taken into consideration....

Carlos

They will also start adjusting if people start crashing these things at high speeds. I know that my insurance company told me that the STI I used to own had the next to the hisghest adjustment factor for vehicle type. They said that the adjustement factor comes from frequency of wrecks and cost of repairs once the vehicle is in a wreck. Since the STI handled fairly well, most wrecks occured when people were driving at the limit. Wrecks like that meant big $$$ in repair costs to the STI and whatever other vehicle they may have hit. Hopefully GTR owners will keep these vehicles in one piece.
