My 1999 Evo powered Galant

Well it was EVO powered, I had a JDM EVO VII motor in it, but now I switched it up bit.

Here she is in all her glory, she is a little dirty, but I wasnt about to wash her, its 34 degrees outside... Im putting her to bed for winter.

I still have to lower her some more up front and install my brembo calipers/rotors, but thats gotta wait til it gets warm again.

That exhaust is killing me, I was going to just redo it now so its aligned in the bumper cutout, but I wanna get a new muffler, so its gotta wait.

Engine bay, still dirty as hell from being in the dusty *** body shop

color matched the strut bar

The shifter bezel, radio bezel and door switch bezels are painted EVO MR Gray, new carpet, new seats, door panels and headliner wrapped in black suede.

No dyno numbers yet, but I should be around 450whp on pump gas and 550+whp on race gas.

That is awesome. I was thinking of an outlander awd with evo powertrain as my next project.

lol

even with the LSD its still pretty rough at WOT in 1st and 2nd gear. it is almost gone midway thru 3rd and then 4th is smooth sailing

I havent had any major tuning done, right now im guessing at 15psi its making about 325-350whp or so. I did a highway run in 4th and I got it up to 140+ MPH, I really gotta get the car corner balanced and have a good wheel alignment done so it stays stable going that fast. Im hoping to get a mid 11 second or better 1/4 mile pass out of her.

LOL

Only 4 years in the making.

It woulda been faster if I didnt have to buy/build/blow 3 motors in this car thanks to the shoddy work of that shop. Ever since I started working on the car myself, stuff seems to work.

yeah its wrong wheel drive

At the track I should be OK tho running a full slick. The car has alot of top end in it still even with the redline at 7500. From 3500-7500 its an animal.

its got more top end because of the fwd. Like an evo is a rocket out of the hole but then kinda evens out up top, mine is like a slug out of the hole spinning tires but 3rd and 4th gear are insane. I have had 4th up to 140+MPH and it pulls hard all the way to redline in every gear. I might change the turbo and intake manifold over the winter, but im not sure yet, I still kinda wanna see what it makes as is. When I had the EVO VII motor in there, I had a built bottom end 9:1 with a stock head, stock cams, stock manifold, smaller piping and smaller fmic and I made 370whp on 16psi on 93 with very conservative timing. This motor just loves boost. The 2.4 is a nice motor on the street, out of boost its still peppy so you dont really feel any lag.
