s2000 Pricing
s2000 Pricing
So my girlfriend has wanted a s2k for a while now and we have located one to take a look at. It's a '05, just under 30k miles, all stock except for a K&N intake. It seems to be in good condition, no cosmetic issues, will test drive it today. I'm really trying to figure out a ballpark value of this car, NADA/KBB values vary, lots of different prices on eBay motors and S2ki.com forum classifieds, etc. I'm also not sure with the current economic state how that will effect the purchase as well. The dealership has called me 5 times over the past 2 weeks since we originally saw it, as well as sent me 2 letters - so they seem motivated to sell it. Anyone have any insight?
~18k. That's about what they go for out here in So Cal. Look up Craigslist out here in LA to get an idea. Also, if you can, get a 2006 model. The ecu in the 2006 can be flashed by Hondata whereas the older ones can not; you have to get a K-pro, swap sensors on the engine, etc. It's a hassle. Much easier to just start with the 2006
edit:
2005, 38k miles, stock, $17.5k

2005, 37k miles, NICELY modded, $22k.

2006, stock, 26k miles from South Coast Mitsu, $18.8k

Heck... I might just go look at this one....

Depends on the area for price look it up on kbb and try and get it for 2-3k cheaper with the economy like this its the perfect time to get things cheaper. Good luck with it i just got a new CR a month ago and love this car really quick for a non turbo 4cyl and puts a smile on my face all day
I was looking for one.. IMHO look for a 2004 AP2.. there way cheaper and lil faster and good looking 2.. I seen stock ones with under 20K miles go for under 15K on the s2ki classifieds.

I miss my S2k
There is a Suzuka Blue 2004 for $13,995 at a dealership a few blocks from me (near Minneapolis, MN). If it wasn't that blue color I'd probably go pick it up as a 2nd car since IMO that price seems insane cheap! I sold my '02 Berlina Black S2k with 47k miles on it for ~$20k just over a year ago; amazing how the prices have tanked recently. Let me know if you're seriously interested in it and I can go test-drive it and get all the details for you.

Thanks for the responses guys. We ended up test driving the '05, also a '03 and a leftover '08. I was really not impressed at all, the car felt painfully slow, although I did enjoy the overall feel of the car and the transmission was very nice. My girlfriend decided she wants to shop around a little more, I don't think they were what she was expecting haha...
