Looking to upgrade Valve spring.

I'm currently building over an engine and my mechanic suggested I change the cams and spring as well. Its a stroked block and I settled on some GCS S2 as just about everyone recommends them and from the product description, they seem to fit my build exactly.

Since I won't be revving pass 8K, what spring are recommend?

The BrianCrower BC0100 kit looks to be good value as it come with "TITANIUM RETAINER" but BC stuff has been getting mixed review in this form.

I ran all of the times in my signature aside from the first one with bc springs/retainers. After about 35k miles on them they still look brand new.

I'm upgrading my valve springs with gsc beehives part# 5039, with gsc s2 cams. I've talk to a bunch of rep shops and that's what they recommended with being able to rev around 8-9k rpm. But if you want to go all out, I would recommend kiggly valve springs and retainers kit (which is on my list when I go fully built). Go to kigglyracing.com...... hope that helps.

Kiggly's, do it once and be done, enough spring for ALL available cams on the market.

Exactly, that's why I will recommend HKS spring. I am using HKS springs in my evo now. Prob not many are familiar with HKS spring. HKS is big company can't go wrong with their products; their products are build with reliability and quality in mind.

How about overrev/mis-shift protection, not much more money and the last valve spring set he will ever have to buy.

Thanks you ... why in the world would you have a stroke motor and not go all out with the extra few hundreds? More of a protection incase one day you might over rev or want to go above 8k...

If money was no object, I prob would get the Kiggly's, again because of the reputation that they have gained here in this form (I value real world user feed back). The GCS beehive were an option but didn't come with retainers for the same price range. HKS is great stuff. Thanks for the heads up! Just looked at their offering and notice something that didn't quite read right.

MITSUBISHI Lancer Evolution 2003-2006 ; Requires EVO VII/Eclipse retainers

Keep the opinions and suggestions coming! If anything I'll hold of a for a few months to upgrade springs and CAMS; maybe even valves and seats too, depending on how this thread progresses.

FYI its an E7 JDM I'm building.
