5 more horsepower, about 132 pounds less and almost double the price.
great car but i will be fine with a standard spec and just fix it up more than 5 hp
GT-R V Spec

ahh i miss read the original articale. the one you posted was standar with v-spec wheels and tires not a full v-spec.
im more impressed now lol but hope they do something more with the actual v-spec. from what i hear though its only planned on coming out in japan. i also hear they are thinking of a m-spec???

Pretty awesome that Nissan backed up the earlier 7:29 (which Porsche claimed wasn't possible) times with an even faster times. It's really cool that it was in a standard 2010 GTR, with only wheels and tires from the V-spec as an upgrade.
From the sound of it, the times were impaired by dust and sand on the track. Which means it may be possible to get into the 7:26's. Within striking range of the ZR1.

I don't know why, but when Automobile tested the GT2 and GTR at Nurburgring, the GT2 was 7 seconds faster (7:49 vs 7:56). Maybe Porsche is correct?
As far as the ZR1 vs '10 GTR....I think you'd need a v-spec for i to be close.
When Motor Trend tested the GTR, ZR1, GT2 and 599 GTB on a very short/tight track, their lap times went like this:
ZR1 - 56.9
GT2 - 57.5
599 - 58.0
GTR - 58.1
If the ZR1 is creating a significant lead like that on a short curvy track, I just don't see where the GTR could hang close at the 'Ring. In the straights the GTR would get murdered considering the ZR1 traps about 130 mph.
