Some people apparently aren't used to having a metric ****ton of torque. You just don't rev the thing past 1700-2000 RPM. There's a reason why people love the LS motors

Unfortunately with that amount of power and driving on MT Street Radials...that time and trap speed is not impressive. We have heavier, less powerful, and street tire driven Evos running quicker.

And how close are those to OEM reliability? How many were built as nicely as a ZR1? How many do everything the ZR1 can do? I love haters, can't simply admit a nice car when it's seen and have to say how they have something better

First off I am a Vette fan...thanks.

Reliability aside...the numbers themselves (aside from the freakish power) are nothing to brag about. A bone stock C6 Z06 has ran 10.981 @ 128 and another with DRs alone ran 10.856 @ 129. Now that is what you call impressive.

While that ZR1 is making some amazing power, its quarter mile time is almost shameful.

When you are making so much freaking power, don't weigh "very much" and are running on DRs.

What altitude are they at? Cars usually run a good second or so slower at our local track because of the altitude issue.

Dude, , have you driven a ZR-1 at some point it's got to be about more than just track results, right? My lowly Z06 is hands down unequivocally 10x better than my EVO was and I like it more and more every time I drive.

How many EVO's run 10.0's@141mph on 93 octane with leather, cruise, A/C, heated seats, full untouched interior, track ready brakes, and practically factory reliability? Go see how many runs these 140mph cars are getting before changing clutches, diffs, and trans. and get back to me.

I can buy a Fox body mustang and run 8's all day long for 30K including the car SO FREAKING WHAT.

As far as shameful.......you are posting the quickest time in the country from a track with the best air in the country -DA that day. Most Z06's are 125-126mph cars in heat at a normal track. That car will be a 9 second car at 143-144mph pump gas soon.

Well for one you are picking one out of about 2 Z06's that have ran that time. Secondly this is undoubtedly a 9 sec car. Their are not evo's running these times that are as reliable and aren't stripped or an RS with nothing in them. You can hate all you want but trapping 140mph with bolt ons is FAST. You have to remember you get so much power that knocking off 10th's is alot...especially when you get into 10's. This track most likely could have not been fast or prepped well. A ZR1 is also about 200-300lbs heavier than a Z06. With all that said and done it takes a fully built evo to run this, it won't be as reliable, and it won't handle as well. That is a complete package that can run 9's and still get 25mpg on the highway. Sure its alot but you get alot...

Btw you put Ranger in that car (thats the person that ran those times you are quoting) and I would put money down he pull's out a 9.7 or 9.8. That's impressive plain and simple. Track + driver makes the biggest difference. Hard to compare variables there.

The great thing about life is the fact that we are all entitled to our opinions. Most of what you stated above is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is the ZR1 made some very impressive power on the dyno, but didn't produce 1/4 mile times worthy of significant praise. Fair enough?

I agree with most of what you have said above. The times for the Z06s I referenced were driven by two highly talented drivers (Ranger was not responsible for both times I referenced). In case you haven't noticed, there are several highly talented drivers on this forum driving stock or near stock Evos with some very impressive times. No doubt the driver factor is a big contributor here.

Wait, you consider 12.X times (what's the fastest stock Evo, a 12.9?) impressive but a car running 10.0 isn't impressive?
