New Solstice Coupe
New Solstice Coupe
Anyone else seen one of these in person yet? I've seen two this week and every time I see it I can't believe how GOOD it looks
The only nitpick I have is that they still need to tweak the front grille, but the rest of the car looks great. If only it had the interior to match.

Yeah, Pontiac will dead, so I doubt a whole lot of these will be made, unless they move it over to the Chevy brand, which IMO would be a really good idea. I haven't yet seen a Saturn version and I wouldn't really expect one.
Just looked it up, it seems that both models (Sky and Solstice) are officially discontinued, so this is sure to become a rare car down the road.

Yeah, I was eyeing those too until I saw the sticker at a local dealership-over 30k, ouch! I guess they charge you extra for the "optional" soft top or something. I don't think Saturn made a hard top version either.

The front is so bland looking. The overall lines are headed in the right direction but the car is just not 100% there. The interior is on the lines of 90's GM typical interior. Cheap plastic. And it amazes me even more how bad the blind spot is on the Hardtop model and how little storage space is provided. Great engine, subpar everything else.
I don't have the crystal ball but I have more common sense that you can ever imagine. GM filed for Bankrupcy and nothing happened. GM is called now GM reinvention and many companies and private and public investors jumped in to regain control of the finances.
While GM pays retirement plans for 400000 people Toyota only pays retirement plans for 700 people, that is a stone true statement. It is very easy to blame the brand and say that they make ****y cars but the reality is that the economy affects many other subsidiearie industries like glass, metal, rubber, leather, stereos, speakers, chemicals, petroleum, etc, etc.
When you think of a car maker collapsing think of not just the factory that makes it but the entire network of other companies that make the project happen.
The economy is low and the car industry is at iddle(for any manufacturer). I wouldn't say Pontiac is dead because I really doubt it would be. Most likely it would be absorbed by another bigger company.
There are more than 15000 Camaros in back order, I went to a local dealer to inquiry about a new camaro and there were 220 orders made in one single dealer in Tucson alone.
We can speculate all day long but it takes a whole lot more to really close a car manufacturer. Have you seen any car manufacturer dissapear ? exactly.
they might reduce the production or eliminate low sales vehicles but to complete close a manufacturer is another history.
Look at ford, they wanted to eliminated the Excursion and the Lincoln for poor sales, that is fine, let them do it, this way Ford can concentrate in more succesfull models.
