Evo out - GSX in!

They're both from the same company, they both have a tuner following. Why do they have to share components to be relevant?
Where in this quote is shared componentry stated as a requirement?
i to tell someone they disagree with that persons decision, or to call "going from a 2006 car to a 1997 car (from the same company, i may add), 'a step back'
the only 2 cars we were discussing all along, since the OP, are very similar in many regards. no need to use as an example, to further your point of view in this discussion, another set of cars, which have nothing in common. i think we r done

Haha. Well. Thank you for everyone and their input. Yes this is the internet and I can expect someone's opinion on the car, yet I never asked for the opinion of my car vs an evo, or whether its a step up or a step down. IMO, there is no taking a step backwards with this car. Considering it has the same cheap plastic interior the evo does with 2 less doors and doesnt have something that is inferior IMO (IE: Mivec (my dsm head is ported and flows alot more) and ACD (I dont even drive the car in ****ty weather, so its useless to me)). BTW, The car already has some new X seats on the way, so to me, a car that is sportier, handles just as good if not better than my evo, makes a ton more power than my evo, is just as comfortable as my evo, has the same ****ty interior as my evo, has a sunroof over my evo, dont have to make monthly payments and full coverage insurance unlike my evo, AND *****es love my eclipse WAY more than my evo, if anything, Its 2 steps forward.
Good day!

yep, putting in seats from a completely different car, investing more money into the engine than you did with your evo, having a sunroof, and of course the fact that "*****es love it more", sure does make the whole thing "2 steps forward"... u got me

And yes, something's are worth more to a person than your necessities/likes. For example, I do like the fact my eclipse has a sunroof.
And hate to burst your bubble, the motor with parts only costs $4900. Where as I did a drop in piston build for my Evo and that with parts and some head work costs me almost just as much!
Seems like you really don't know what your talking about or know about this situation, so no offense to you or anything, from one fellow mitsu owner to another, you may want to take a step back and again, try not to compare an apple to an orange!

What did come to your mind then? Yeah your right, Its not as INSANE as a dime-a-dozen Evo....
Yeah, this eclipse is just a big piece of **** rust bucket. It doesn't have 4 doors, a big big wing, and a revised 7bolt motor that doesn't crankwalk! Luckily though, it does have a well-built 6-bolt!
Don't really care, I love this car. In person it's SO much cleaner! Pictures don't do it justice. No swirl marks, no dents, no dings, no scratches. To me, for it STILL being factory paint, never repainted, and still being a 97, I do believe its in PRESTINE condition!

Are you serious man? Some of you Evo guys need to get off that high horse of yours and realize you are not driving god's means of transportation. It's a 4G63 powered Mitsubishi, like a bunch others that have been produced since the 70s. No need to slam down a particular type of car because it's older and not the "new hotness". Maybe you forgot that you drive a turbocharged Lancer with a wing and some Recaros, not a Bugatti Veyron.
You kidding me dude? Get off your Evo's high horse! Your putting Recaro's in a lancer and all of a sudden its much better quality than my eclipse with the same ****ty plastic interior? Come on! You should know this comming from a guy that drives an AMG Mercedes and a Land Rover!

i think there was a misunderstanding. hence, i will reiterate for one last time what i have been saying all along.
first and foremost, you do whatever pleases you, and you shoudlnt be offended by what people say, especially when none of them know you or will ever meet you. i myself often get a lot of crap for still not getting rid of the C36 with 400,000,000 miles on it, when i now have several other cars (nice cars) at my disposal... i dont care what people say, i love it. so, to each his own.
moving on, at no point did i 'slam' the GSX, or said that its a rust-bucket or is an underachiever... like many, i too really like the DSMs. however, since you went from a 2006 Evo (being so similar to, yet much newer, than a DSM), i did agree with some of the other people who have said that in their opinion, it is a step back. it is not law, it is, but an opinion. when someone says that your shirt is ugly, you dont argue with them, do you ?? however it wasnt just a "hate on you for no reason" opinion, the opinion was substantiated and explained, several times over.
at no point did i bring up the issue of "interiors". why would i ? an evo is a stripped down, economy-based, performance car... further, had you spent an equal amount of money on the MIVEC 4g63, as you did on the non-Mivec 4g63, chances are, you would have better results than you say you did. i do not believe that you spent almost $5k on the IX engine build, and got poor results, yet you spent the same amount on the Eclipse and somehow got amazing results. i really hope this isnt true!
reading the posts, some of the dislikes of the evo, were a big wing and lack of sunroof. well IIRC, it takes but 25minutes to take off the wing, and you can find any year Evo with a factory sunroof.. i hope thats the end of that.
finally, FWIW, may i point out that you will never see a Porsche owner go from a 2006 Cayman, to a 1995 968, no matter how 'built' the motor may be. you will never see an Audi owner go from a 2007 RS4, to a 1999 TT no matter how much money he puts into the 1.8t engine, and you probably wont see a 2006 S2000 go back to a 1997 civic hatch with a turbo... [and im not even mentioning going from a WRX to an SVX coupe
].thought this last point may not be as constructive or assertive as the previous ones, it still is yet another basis for the notion that this might have been a "step back"

No, it doesn't. I was being sarcastic. I have no idea what your point really is other then you want to make sure the OP hears what you have to say about his decision to switch to a DSM even though:
1. He's happy with his decision.
2. He has a different value system.
3. He does not care what you think.
