no question 4g63 is a better motor. stock built ect. hell the aftermarket isnt all that great for the car, but thats not what its about.
remember, i had a 4g63. i decided to sell it because all that was left to do was make more and more power to the point where its useless. so i saved myself the expense and aggravation of DD'ing a built motor big turbo evo, and went to a totally new platform that will keep me interested, and ultimately make me a better driver each time im out on the track.
but please go over to honda-tech if you want to talk about the glory of the K series. this car has plenty of power, and will make more with simple bolt ons and a tune. all i am saying is that i could care less if it was a hamster on crack powering the car. so if you want to discount the car because its powered by toyota then by all means hate away.
some people just dont get it. if i wanted a highway monster or a 10 second drag car id be in a supra or a vette. thats not what this car is about
at the end of the day this car is as raw and badass as they get.

Beautiful car though and an upgrade from the Evo for sure.about your first paragraph in the comment above - interesting take on it, and I think I agree. I just want to make more and more power with the Evo which will eventually render it useless. Haha...never thought about it that way

I get it!! Don't know much about the motor, but I'm sure it has plenty for your purposes.
The only downside to me is the price.
Have fun in the snow. I drove a miata through several snowstorms (probably mild for boston) without snow tires, only got stuck once. You'll be fine, as long as the snow isn't higher than your windshield
Now that i think of it, you'll be pretty much invisible on a snowy day, be careful.

Such an amazing car. Peoples Egos and opinions on the net are hilarious. The evo is an amazing car and I want one someday but there are way to many fan boys on evom. Cant people just love the Lotus for the amazing car that it is and not compare everything to what they think their evo is.

Wow... DD an exige... Thats ballsy... A friend of mine has a blue Exige... I helped him do a full stereo and HID's in it... And i've driven it... You must be TINY to be able to not mind squeezing in and out of that thing everyday...
5'10 200lbs. its only hard the first couple times, then you find what works best for you. once youre inisde it fits like a glove. even better driving position than the evo to be honest. and i thought the evo driving position was damn near perfect. shifter in the lotus is taller which is nice.
i think in 05 the elise did. swapped to alpine after that. but the speakers are garbage. like 4 inch or something crazy like that. anything above idle you just cant hear it well. clarity, volume... just garbage. mine has a kenwood flip out navi/dvd/rearview cam/ipod. i need better speakers and sirius radio back in my life. i miss it in the car.
