Any recommendation for DSM tuners in TX?
Aight, I need some shops' name and people to contact. Since I might have a little project going. Can any of you refer a store to me?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
What exactly are you interested in doing?
Since I only moved to Texas a couple of months ago, I have no idea about DSM shops around here.
I do know that there are a few of us that know a few things about them though and would be willing to help where we can.
Let me know what you are up to. Maybe we can meet up sometime soon. I'll be tuning my Galant this week as I am getting the DSM pocketlogger by Thursday.

Well I dont know what years a 4g covers, but if it is a later model where the engine is reversed, then it would be way more work than its worth. Extreme motor sports did it, and had to completly refabricate the motor mounts etc. With the FWD it certainly would be too much work for too little results. Would be much cheaper to fit an EVO engine.
Now if the 4G was the earlier model like the EVO I-III, then it shouldn't be much of a problem, especially with a 2nd generation DSM engine.
For the same money you could just buy a Galant VR-4 and buy a totally custom body kit too.

He's ends up with an evo lll with this conversion. The 4g Mirage was the last before they rotated the engine. He needs a shop to do all of this http://www.vysor.com/awdlancernotes.htm for him.
check out the local dsm.org in TX.

Also, this above link.
BT, that's a good site on the principle of doing the conversion.

Guys, thanks
I know, I was thinking of the GVR-4 before. However, it's too heavy and the main reason for such coversion is it will be rare. AND I'M A ATTENTION *****
j/k
Yeah, I don't think any average tuner will know WTF I'm talking about since most of them don't deal with Mirage (93-96) I want someone GOOD.
I printed out ALL the pictures in this site and the article and read it like every now and then
I check the Gulf Coast DSM club chapter and their msg board is down
All I can find are some links for vendors. So I wanna know who should I speak to
Thanks again

I don't think the engine swap would be much of a chore if you used the proper engine to match the sensors you have (could be first or second gen). The motor mounts should line up and so too should the transmission.
If the wiring is a chore you could always get a standalone and wire yourself. It would be time consuming but not too hard.
The AWD is a whole different matter and I guarantee most shops would not touch that, and it likely would not even be worth your money.
Contact Road Race Engineering to find out what would be involved with the AWD.
I will have my car at the next SCCA autocross and we could take a look at it. You can also stop by or meet up with me anytime.
