Well there's the 6-speed transmission, the differentials, the DCCD, the suspension, the Brembos, the steering system, the various harder bushings, etc. Comparing the WRX to the STI is like comparing the Ralliart to the Evo, they're fundamentally different cars.

 

The much stronger 6-speed, hubs, diff, and brembo brakes on the STI is worth the difference in price.

 

Not to mention the engine has better internals... Larger turbo, etc, etc... I've owned a WRX and drove the STI of the same year... Entirely different car.

 

Well the new WRX has a turbo that is more or less the same as that in the STI but the STI motor is still better.

 

Its definately interesting. Id have to see one in person to really make up my mind on it.

 

+1 for thinking they need to make an STi version of this sedan

 

I like it. the lines look good and even. The rear fender flare is a little goofy but overall the car looks good

 

that looks sick.. ok the front could be better but overall huge improvement.

It looks like a tuner shop's exercise, not particularly good or bad. When Mitsu does a midcycle update on the X, or rolls out an XI - I hope they produce a cleaner design rather then go a bit overboard like that one looks to me.

What you just described are details. The fundamentals of the WRX and STI: AWD, turbo boxer, layout, chassis, body - are the same. Two "fundamentally" different cars would be comparing a Civic to an Odyssey.
