thanks! I think the user who is asking should definetly know what deals are out there to avoid making the "wrong" decision. Its easy to look at MSRP's and be horrified by the Evo X prices.

Hope it helps dude.

To each their own, i guess.
Problem is, the Ralliart is expensive enough to play with some big boy cars, the 265hp WRX for example, and frankly simply can't compete, at all. Unless you really, really want an automatic.

The Ralliart just doesn't have the ***** for the price it commands, especially compared to the used-car market.

this is very good to know. i might just go ahead and get a GSR with the SSS package then!! i've always wanted to learn stick even though i pretty much already KNOW how, it's the actual experience that i haven't had yet, minus my work.

i know the 2010 models went up in price however, but if you can get one for 30Gs then I will most definately look at one. Now the INSURANCE for me is the deal breaker.... i'm not sure how much it'd be for full coverage! does anyone have a 2010 GSR SSS pack vin i could send to my insurance for reference?

The difference between a ralliart and a X in insurance is nil. I wouldn't let that stop you. Unless you simply can't afford it.

IMO, you should get the MR. You just can't go wrong with it, unless you're looking to make some BIG BIG numbers (500whp?)

Or better yet, test drive it first then make your decision. Before I went to the dealership I was DEAD SET on getting a GSR. After the test drive there was no doubt in my mind I was going to get the X MR.

I'd get the MR. If you get a ralliart with plans to mod it, it still probably won't be as good as a stock MR and you will have spent the cash for the mods.

Get the MR, take it from an RA owner. For the money spent on a loaded RA in Canada, I could have gone with a GSR. At this point I think the features on the RA were nice, but I'd take the power and handling of the GSR first. Afterwards, I began looking at loaded MRs and I managed to get a good price on one from a dealer, except I would have to take huge losses on the Ralliart which I wasn't looking to do.

well right now i have an 09 GTS w/cvt that has 19,700 miles on it and i need to sell that firstly.

it has the following:

-rotor glow premium paint
-powder coated factory wheels (all black everything) @ 50% gloss
-800 dollar brand new tires
-painted (blacked out) tail lights and reflectors
-30% tint all the way around with 3m's nicest stuff
-painted front grille area to match ralliart's look

is $16K too much to ask for this? i probably spent about 2500 additional in just the upgrades to my GTS. no rockford system but as a master cert. installer i added an mtx sub to the factory stereo which also has factory bluetooth.

i need to sell it before anything happens on a new car.

Well this depends on you're discount. I have 40% and it cost me a little over 2k for a year. I have an 08 GSR SSS.

Cut the buyer's remorse from the equation - if the $$$ is there, grab the MR. But...if the $$$ is not there and truly need something quickly, grab the RA. Wife replaced my old car with an Evo X, but she wants an RA for her daily driver.

now i'm leaning a crap ton towards the 2010 GSR w/SSS package. how much did you all pay for yours, if you have one? it lists for 36k MSRP do you think i could get it for 32 possibly?

Get the Ralliart if u cant afford an Evo... but if you CAN afford an Evo, do NOT get the Ralliart. Simple math :-P

Most of us here with a Ralliart could NOT afford an Evo at the time... otherwise I really, really, really doubt anyone who test drove a RA and then an Evo would've made up their minds for the first one, the difference is night and day, except when you mod the RA a bit then it has good power, enough to be compared to a stock Evo in acceleration (maybe a bit more) but then you'd be spending money trying to make a car feel like the other stock relative! :-D

Get the GSR... the day you wanna go FQ, you'll regret getting both the RA and the MR... at least until TC-SST modding is fully developed

Armstrong, everyone will have their own opinions. I dont think you'll be able to get an MR for 32. Now that teh economy is doing better, it'll be tough"er" to force the dealer to let you have the car. But, u just have to call all the dealerships and ask for a quote when you have the money and are willing to pull the trigger within 24 hours. If not, they wont care to talk to you

so far from what i've seen it seems like dealerships MAYBE have even one evo x and it's not exactly what i want. i wont be able to pull the trigger until october or so when i have enough, but when i do i'll be looking for one in that blue! do you think dealers will have more evos later in the year or how did you guys get yours?

I just heard from my buddy at the dealer Mitsu is refreshing the Lancer for '11, nothing major but a bit of a refresh, and it should be here this Fall along with the Outlander Sport, around sept-nov.... I am "assuming" the '11 Evos might get a better treatment.... so you either pull the trigger on a '10 or wait until 11's show up by the end of year and get one of those, or get a '10 around that time with a 1K+ discount (mitsu usually drops 1k on a previous year Evo that's still sitting at the lot)
