New GTO

man I keep reading about the new GTO.
350 hp and 362 lb of torque.
1/4 in under 14 easily.
0-60 in I think it was 5.3

time to stop modding my lancer and think about getting a RWD.

the fact that it doesn't look like hte standard v8 amazes.

anyone else have thought/opinions of this new thriller?

I like the exterior but the interior is too friggin "concept car" for me. I don't know much about performance, except the Aussie version (Holden Monaro) has quite a racing history and it has the same engine as the 'Maro SS.

So the GTO is the American version of the Holden Monaro; very interesting. Maybe it could start some "V-8 Super-touring" racing here and bump lame-*** NASCAR off the map. GTO vs V-8 Taurus vs Monte Carlo or Impala on road course. hmmmmmm

GTO,,,,, what a shame,,,,,nothing like the real gto's of the '60's.

This car is so Vanilla it is a joke... The only thing this car has is a vette engine under the hood,,,,,,,,other wise it is just a plain jane crappy GM car........ Just like any pontiac of shevy,,,,,,ummm just makes me want to take a nap.

Just a shame they call it , and market it as a GTO.......

But then again it is GM we are talking about.......

Plus it weighs 3900 lbs.

There will be some sick GTOs as soon as they are released but the quality will for sure blow plus from what Im seeing it will be like 35K no thanks Ther is no way id give up the EVo for a 3900lb RWD - Ever notice that all the import based cars bloat up nicely just like us Americans?

GTO: Curb Weight (lbs.) 3725 Est.
Mustang: Curb Weight [lbs.]. 3665
Camaro: Curb Weight: 3577
Trans Am: Curb Weight: 3517

dont' know how ya got 3900.
but it does seem like it will be a lil heavier than the rest.
but the a better ride and better looks... I will take it.

the LS1 engine was also used in the trans am.
was the the only thing that made it popular?

MP5: from what I read the only option is the transmission...

price should be 31,790 for auto (and pay $1000 tax for gas taxes)
or 32,490 for manual.

I love the Ol' Goats of the 60's. Especially 67', the best year in my opinion. I'm sure it has great potential even if it is a bohemoth. I haven't seen any pics of this yet. Anybody have any links?

MrMeaner: just go to motortrend.com and search for GTO... they have a lot of articles and info on the new ones.

doesn't look remotely similar (except the grill kinda... in a drunk state maybe)
