Will Nissan bring over a turbo 350Z?

I was curious if anyone heard any rumors if the 350Z with be able to come with a turbo from the factory in 2004?

I own a track version and have not heard of any plans from Nissan. Greddy turbo kit will be installed in my car as soon as they are availible.

Well I read the Z will only run 13.4 on the quarter mile with the greddy twin turbo kit. 6000 for about a second? Is it worth it?

The core greddy kit has the boost setting pretty low. I think I will have some room to play with the boost and careful tunning to get more power. At 6 grand the kit is really complete and can be easily modified.

As with any type of tunning, one will never know unless one tries.

Well if I had the money I would love to buy a Z and buy the greddy kit. But I think it would be a good idea for nissan to offer a Z that can run low 13's or high 12's for under 40000 grand. From the factory

don't forget, the VQ35DE is designed as an NA engine, not a turbo engine. I have always said that you can turbo any engine, but that does not make it a turbo engine. A true turbo engine will be built to properly utilize a turbo. Low compression pistons, forged internals, oil squirtering piston coolers, etc. The VQ is a high compression NA machine, so slapping a turbo kit on it without properly tuning it will not yield high results.

Unfortunatley, even in Japan, the Z is still in NA form, only. The rumor mill is buzzing about a turbo version coming in the upcoming model year

Buy low-compression pistons and you should be fine to crank the boost.

BTW, a twin-turbo 350Z is on the way - in 2007. It'll be called the (Skyline) GT-R... No joke. However, it'll probably be sold as an Infiniti in the U.S.

It'll probably be a higher trim level of the G35 which will follow Nissan's naming scheme in Japan. I just wish that Nissan wouldn't toss the VQ35 in every car they produce now.

The reason the Skyline GT-R won't be here until 2007 (and actually dropped the "skyline" name so it's just GT-R) is because Nissan is doing a clean sheet design for it. They had to establish their money-making cars first before pushing ahead on the GT-R. I can't wait. I have a savings account set up already for my down payment...

join the club Trust me, I keep up on most of the Nissan news, but unfortunately, Nissan's being too tight lipped about the new GT-R
