Hey everyone I had a question for those that are familiar with Toyota's... So my dad has a 85 Mr2 and the engine is shot. We talked about me buying the engine for it and the car will basically be mine till my dad later on buys it from me, but thats not my question. So this is the Engine he would like to swap in it. Our question is does anyone know if this engine is compatible with the mr2 and also would we need to pick up a new ECU for the car?

i would throw in a 3gte myself but if i recal the 4age is the stock mr2 engine for an mk1.

ok doing more searching the stock mk1 mr2 is a 4age 16 valve the 20 valve u want in there will require a new ecu and a afm
