Stock vs Stock: Evo IX competitors

You said phalic and the first thing I thought of was the MCoupe, I think it was the 2002 MY that had the S54 engine, 315hp-ish, you could probably find one for low twenties, most available though are the earlier years with the S52 engine making much less power. Not sure how they stacked in the handling department, but it's a M, so it probably does pretty well.
edit, that's 315 hp in the 2001 and 2002s and 240 hp in the 1999/2000 MY.

Not for me, and as far as his interior goes it was stock. The powerplant was the only thing modded on the car. Getting out was easy I just had to fall on the ground, literally. But while I was sitting in it I felt like Jeremy Clarckson in the Fiat 500, or the Murcielago. My knees were basically attached to the steering wheel except for when I pressed the clutch in, and the whole time I was sitting in it I had to hunch my neck to the side because I couldn't scoot down any further. I actually fit in his wife's Miata better, but then again, it's a convertable.

Saturn Sky Redline/Pontiac Solstice GXP.
260HP, but much lighter (a bump under 2900 lbs).
Stock Redline I ran a 13.82@99, I think the Evo IX can run as low as a 13.4@103-105 in good hands. From a roll they're pretty even, and handling-wise I'd assume fairly even as well. I own an X not a IX, but my Evo gives me more confidence in the turns, yet I'm not actually going any faster.

I'm not convinced of this. From the casual web surfing i've done, it seems the bottom ends just look stronger because the cars make more peak hp, but in reality it's their total lack of bottom end tq that's allowing them to survive.
And there are many cars stock for stock that are faster than evo's including BMW's (135, 335), Mustangs, etc. And we're not even talking about from a roll.
