Way to over priced.. I have been working at an Acura dealer for 1.5 years and they are great motors, but the electronics they have are crap... They really cheap out on their parts. Hands free links always going bad, navigations, and dvds. I don't see it all together going to go well, besides spending tons of money on a tech to go back to school for their 1 car.

Quote: Or how about because i'll save money in gas over the alternative? Not everyone cares about the carbon footprint of their car. If I can pick up a 55 mpg prius for 19k (prius c) it's not because it's environmentally friendly, it's because i'll be saving $300 a month in gas.
did u mean per year, or per month ?

Apears to be pretty close to the dual note concept a while back. Mid engine, rear drive with an electric motor/s in the front for AWD, ultimate computer controlled torque vectoring, regenerative braking and extra dig-out of corners torque. Stupid hybrids, who would want that?

you just recently found out about this ? lmao

as for the hybrid stuff, i honestly dont believe in them. and for the guy who says the older camrys werent as fast, who the hell would buy a hybrid to be fast anyways???

speaking of hybrids i think manufacturers over exaggerate their MPG, i just read how a woman sued Honda motors because she wasnt' getting the claimed mileage her hybrid civic was supposed to be getting. AND SHE WON BY THE WAY....

if you want fuel economy buy a new small subcompact NON hybrid car. not only will you save at the pump with one but you will also save quite a few bucks when buying the car because hybrids are marked up like crazy.

yes, if all you care about is economy, than todays subcompacts are the way to go. "hybrid" is more of a fashion statement.
in general, in any car, the economy depends on driving style, but even more so in a hybrid - cause once you deplete batteries, u r left with the base engine, which is typically underspec'ed and will work much harder just to keep up.
my mileage varies greatly depending on how heavy my foot gets. grandma driving gets me 19city/28hwy. while even remotely spirited driving instantly depletes batteries and economy drops to 12city/19hwy.

although, overall, i still get significantly better mileage and better performance out of a hybrid V6, than i used to get with somewhat similar vehicle with a V8

my Father and myself went half's on a 2012 toyota yaris auto 3 door, i was checking the MPG reading i was getting around 28 mpg or so... thats with a regular subcompact car... im sure if i were to drive even slower that would rise. i really feel sorry for the saps who would pay $32,000 for a prius or any other hybrid car.
