Ok so Im coming from an Evo to the new 335I N55 (2011). This car is everything the evo isnt and than some. I was a huge evo fan boy till these cars came out. They absolutely anihilate the Evo in every single way. If you want speed get the N54 (2010- or earlier) it is TT with forged internals. The new one is single turbo and not forged internals. If you want great handling well you get it, throw some coils on and its even better. The styling of the car both interior and exterior is elegant and beautiful yet aggressive. The powerband you can not even compare. It puts the evo to shame. Full Tq @ 3k with the capablilties of hitting 450whp n almost 500wtq on meth & full bolt ons....ya its insane. Now since they have dug further into the 335I they have developed a single turbo kit. Full boost @ 3500rpm & holds 500wtq to almost 6k. Talk about a ridicilous power band. The power is so smooth too, so clean and just pulls and pulls. You cannot compare the 2 cars, the BMW is in a league of its own and is such a technological advancement and is so far ahead of the evo. If I was you I would ditch the evo & get the 335. I have a 450+ whp evo & dont get me wrong it was awesome & I loved it, but it just doesnt compare to the 335 IMHO.

Coming from a BMW M3 owner, I suggest your keep your EVO. The 335 is nothing compared to the M3 and I love my EVO more for a reason; it's RAW power!

I dont understand this statement, you know a 335I (modded) is much faster than an M3 right? The only advantage the M3 has is handling.

Of course. Any car modified can be faster than any car.

I own a 335xi sedan for my daily and a fully built evo 8 for my weekend, I have also owned an evo 10 gsr and MR. In all fairness the 2 cars are very different. The evo is the car that wants to play all the time, the 335 is the car that can play when you want it to. The 335's suspension is very compliant especially on NY roads which can be very rough, the flip side to that is the 335 doesnt have the raw feeling the evo has. Powerband in the parkway is better in 335 then in the evo since it has more low end torque. Fuel economy in the 335 is also much better then in the evo. At the end of the day its your choice, do you want a car that is raw, lighter, and ballsier or a comfortable that can easily make the power of a bolt on evo that weighs a bit more? Only you can choose your path, my suggestion...test drive.

No no I get that but I guess what is it about the M3 that you liked that much more than the 335? The handling is obviously on of the bigger factors here since the M's handling is ridicilous. But power and driveability, what did/didnt you like about either?

Every single way except handling.
And braking.
And resale value.
And mod potential.
And trackworthiness.

Oh, and N54 > N55.

The N54 and newer N55 motors both are plagued by high pressure fuel pump issues (even on unmodded cars). Some owners have had the pumps replaced multiple times. BMW has had to extend the warranties on the pre-2011 cars to 120k miles. If you mod, then you have to deal with injector issues and failing turbos. These cars can make great power but not reliably.

While they do have their issues like every car does the issue that arise are small and easily fixed. Especially under warranty. BMW is very good with modded vehicles and they let a lot slide. You never hear of incidents of people blowing up when the car is pushed to it limits. I know they are out there, but very few. No drive train/engine problems to me is a huge bonus. Evo not so much, problems galor. Than on to the master cylinder issues. I loved my evo it was an experience of a life time, but it has no backing from the manufacturer & it is a money pit IMHO. You can have problems with a fully bolted on 335 go to the dealer & they will still warranty work. Granted some are different than others.

I was definitely jumping the gun in the every way aspect btw. Handling definitely isnt better, but braking is close, my 335 stops on a dime just like my evo did.

I have a friend that can at least vouch for that.

In Maryland, any mod will void the BMW warranty.
