has anyone gone from Evo to 335i, or from 335i to Evo?
I've owned an Evo IX and I currently have a 335is with a dual-clutch Getrag and my wife has a 335i with a steptronic. Stock, both BMW's are quicker than an Evo but once you start to mod, we all know what the evo is capable off. Add to that one of the best handling all-wheel drive chassis and the Evo is way more fun than any BMW. Build quality is superb on the beemer. The Evo can't compare there. BMW's are a lot more reliable than most people think but expensive in the event of something breaking. Germans like to over-engineer everything and modding these cars can be a pita i.e., 4hr dp install. If you are going to purchase one, get one with a warranty. Intercooler plus dp's and a good tune will get you into the low 12's and high 11's if you can hook up. Only disappointment with this car is that it comes with an open rear diff.
I also went from evo to 335i to evo again and comparing the two is like apples and oranges. 335i is way smoother and comfortable. the evo is more of a drivers car imo and thats what i love about it. dont lose that warranty on the bimmer though or u screwed.
