As the car gets cheaper this was bound to happen.....after this wave we will hopefully be left with people who truly love the car and want to keep it.

Yeah purchasing anything other then a R33 is a waste of time for the reason Vivid listed. On the state level it won't matter. Federal trumps all and Federally only the R33 was crash tested by Motorex so all the R32's and R34's they sold were illegal.
Its been talked about that the feds are slowly finding these cars and taking them away from the owners regardless of the money it cost them with NO re-imbursement because its on the roads Illegally.
Same thing happened with Evolution Imports and all the Evo VII's they imported and the S15's I believe.
if you want to keep your evo pristine then buy another to daily drive.

Ya, I think thats my reality. I am not sad, i still have my evo, but a skyline would have been a dream to have regardless of how much money i have to waste on it.. Maybe i should just get a 240 and be done with it.
OP I'm not gonna smash you. But just read this and think. Think about the headache US Customs is gonna give you.
Years ago bill gates bought a Porsche and had it imported here. Customs gave bill ****in gates a hard time about making the car street legal. Customs held the car for 13 years.
Many people might not know bill gates paved the way for importing car to the US. and if they gave him a hard time and kept his car for 13 years what makes you think there not gonna screw you?

my suggestion, which will likely fall on deaf ears, is to keep the EVO and learn to drive it correctly. Do an HPDE/Driving school for a couple hundred dollars and watch your worries of breaking or damaging your evo turn into dreams of dominating the asphalt.

I dont drive like an idiot and i have collision so if i get in a crash I will hopefully be saved. the fact that u bring up a crash offends me because u probably think that im an idiot driver just because of my age. I dont have any accidents yet, so why dont you keep it relevant because me crashing is irrelevant. Also, I can afford the skyline now ( it would be a little difficult and hard for a little while ) but to me it is worth it because cars are my life, so having an r33 in my driveway to work on would be entirely worth it... After this thread I probably wont be getting a skyline, but we will see where I am after I sell my OZ rally and my porsche, and talk to my dad, If I end up getting it, I will make another post showing you the skyline next to my evo.
Thanks for making me like the evo community that im new to less other then a few people

No offense dude, but I moved out when I was 16 and I've been on my own ever since, so to me saying you're a kid at (insert age) is kinda meh. You're a kid as long as you choose to be. Still I share your enthusiasm for skyline gtrs, as other ppl on this thread have mentioned gtrs are pretty much the only skyline worth the trouble, and r33s are the redheaded step-***** of them (although they are the only ones you can drive legally). If you can actually get your hands on one, and afford to play with it more power to you, personally I don't think its that realistic, but hey if you can, go for it.
Don't worry about ppl flaming you, its a forum, that **** happens, the ability to be anonymous makes *******s of us all, If it's your dream go for it. But when you posted on here you asked for advice on what ppl thought, which pretty much opened you up to exactly that. The smart move isn't always the one you have to make, I recently found a perfect condition 1986 5.0 mustang gt, prolly the best condition foxbody I've ever found, and I found it for barely within my pricerange. The smart move for me would have been to get a cheap DD since I've already got a 500hp Evo, but I knew If I didn't pick up this stang I would regret it, so I bought the stang. If its feasible for you to get this skyline, then do it...it might work out, it might not, but either way it will be a learning experience. That said, don't hate on the ppl that flamed you since you asked what ppl thought and they told you, some of them may have been more of an ******* then necessary, but you asked the question, just take it like a man and do whatever you feel is right for you.
