the 350 didn't come out until 1967.

Minor bolt ons to a 1st gen LT-1 350 will get you 400 hp but thats a rare and powerful engine and probably not what he has. If he has a cam, intake manifold and a big carb on an average 350 he could get 350 hp. If he has all that plus some new heads with big valves then you should be worried. I don't think minor bolt ons will be enough though.
