I'm looking at a 2004-2007 Volvo s60r 6 speed. I'm looking for a good 4 door family car that has a manual trans for around 15k. the Evo still seems to be out of my price range or beat up. I'm not sure if they are comparable. both around 300 hp, awd, four doors. has anybody owned one or knew somebody that has. what do they think?

I don't know a lot about the Mazda speed 6. I know it is the same engine as the Mazda speed 3 a 2.3turbo. How is the stock HP rating of the car and how does the awd work? is it like the Volva where its fwd until it slips and than sends the power to the rear? how is the ride?

 

I really wanted to get one and did some research about them a couple of years ago. They have low resale value so you can find decent deals on them but maintainance is apparently a nightmare which is what stopped me from getting one. Also check out the SAAB turbo X. It's AWD with a turbo V6. It came out in 2008 to compete with the Audi S4 and was originally $40k+ but you can find them for less than $15k now that SAAB has gone out of business. An independent company recently got a contract to produce parts for SAAB so I don't think finding parts will be as much of an issue as some originally thought.

 

What year Saab are the years to get? And which model? the 9-5?

 

I owned a 2007 Mazdaspeed6 GT for over 3 years & loved every minute of it. Really should have kept that car. Only oil & tire changes. It was dead reliable & a lot of fun to drive. I'm actually looking for another one now.

 

I haven't seen many mazdaspeed 6 for sale either.

 

The 9-3 was available with AWD from 2008 and up, I believe. I think the 9-5 came with it as well.

Did you try autotrader.com? I remember seeing tons when I was shopping around a year or two ago.

 

I search for Saab turbo x and nothing came up.is it a 9-3 or 9-5? and is there a better year that I should be looking for Madzaspeed6?

 

The Turbo X is the 9-3 body so entering in 2008+ AWD and manual 9-3 will usually bring some up. They were pretty rare with only 600 made. Here are a couple of listings I found:

mazdaspeed6 was only available 2006-2007 and was limited production.

you can get them pretty loaded too: Leather heated seats, bose sound, nav, moonroof, keyless

 

ms6 is a great car.. double wishbone front suspension too
