May jump ship from the Evo scene..
May jump ship from the Evo scene..
Well I have been debating it for awhile, weighing up the options and I think it's time to upgrade.. Gt-r here I come.! Once I receive brakes/valve cover from coating then a part out may ensue or may sell it all together.
Cool story bro?
Enjoy your GT-R. I've been in my friend's stock GT-R Black, it's pretty fun in a straight line (I wasn't impressed like I am with a $15k modded evo) but on the track is where it truly shines.

I have a few friends that have gtrs; after working on them, driving, and spending good amounts of time around them I think they are heavily overpriced. There just not worth $110k IMO. If they were in Z06 price territory it would be a different story.
Care to elaborate? (I'm not "calling you out" or disagreeing) I'd like to hear your $0.02 on the subject. On paper (yes, I'm aware of the enthusiast 'sin' that is bench/magazine racing) they represent a tremendous performance bargain, capable of equaling or surpassing cars in a much higher price bracket, chock full of technology and top shelf performance parts. One of the main reasons everyone fell in love with the Evolution.

1. There is no Evo scene anymore. Just kids with cars.
2. Agree on GTR being over priced for what it is. For me, its the Ferrari of Japan. Made for people with a small ***** and more money than brains.

Scene is much different now then it was in 05. Tons of excitement over new product developments etc..
Even DB was saying now its all about who can get you parts the cheapest.
I don't think I'll ever sell my car because a.) I wont get much more than 12k for it. and b.) I really do just love the car, regardless of the better alternatives that exist today.

Yes the GT-R tax is pretty ridiculous lol
I've been thinking about making the jump in a few years but that is one thing that is making me think twice. I just can't see myself paying $3,000 for a cat-back
Another problem is I would only be able to afford a used one and if that transmission brakes and its out of warranty I'm screwed
