Electric motors ftw

got smoked by an electric dirt bike
and a tesla model S (top model)

i'm not fast nor terribly slow. But i think electric motors have some potential in the future. =)

I'm curious how the next Mitsu evo with diesel-electric motors will perform.

Oh yes they have potential. Instant power pretty much from what I understand. Only thing im not being able to see is upgrade abilities, we going to be overclocking them like pcs?

You're at 335hp/325tq and got smoked by a Model S? I've raced one before and it was running 12.3's. I'm running 12.8's and I'm well under 300hp.

Speed/power has never been a concern with electric motors. It's the storage problem that holds them back.

I didnt launch...more like a bog.. haha. had to wait for 3k rpm for the boost to kick in. But still even when it did, the 450lbs of instant torque that guy had from the start.. it was hard to keep up with. By 4th gear he was already several car lengths ahead.
good for him. Now i have to look for cams and a new turbo hahaha

I ran with a buddy's 2013 m3 (na modded but untuned) . With an actual launch. (a conservative one at that.. but still got to boost way faster this time.) For a split second i was ahead by 1/4 car in first gear.. i was able to hang but the dct and higher redline beat me. 3/4 car length by end of 3rd gear.

Back to the topic. I hope mitsu learns something from tesla. Most of these hybrids model either model off of a prius (electric dominate/gas back up) or larger luxury cars that are (gas dominate/ electric back up)

I hope there is some kind of balance with performance and gas efficiency.

Didn't think about you being a GSR, that's a disadvantage too -- I have an SE with the SST.

Internal combustion is one of the least efficient engine types. I think everyone is so hyped up about electric because it does have enormous performance potential. If you think about how far tuners have gone with just the electronics of a current gasoline powered vehicle, just imagine a fully electric car. Once the battery weight/storage issue is overcome there are going to be some fast cars out there.

dissadvantage to SST is the limit of torque..

I dont think there are any perfect cars but you can get them pretty close to ideal.. just takes a buttload of $$$$ haha
