I got to drive the car yesterday, all I can say is wow, what a more luxurious, softer and better sounding car.

The fit and finish of the interior makes the evo look like a cheap 10k import, and it's amazing how much more linear the power and handling of the car is.

It's by no means faster than the evo, but it does feel torquier and more quick off the line.

I think this is a perfect daily driver with good handling, lots of room and features.

If this car had another 100hp it would be perfect, cause the engine's powerband is really sweet.

Things I didn't like were the throttle response (some delay in the fly by wire) and the rubbery shifter.

Overall a great car, and a good buy, reminds me of the porsche boxster a bit in terms of handling/power.

Everything I can agree on but quicker off the line
Golf has approx the same 0-60 as my Accord which is FWD?!
Give me a break.

When I say it feels quicker off the line, I should of said it has more low end torque which launches the car from a stand still a little more effortlessly than having to rev the car up like the evo to hit boost for power.

NA cars are easier to drive and more predictable it's that simple.

I think R32 looks nice, i remember downloading some preview of r32 when i was still on www.vwvortex.com it was an amazing video. people were saying they will never deliver this car here to us. i think its worth it to pay 30k for that car since i was vw fan (vr6 jetta moded owner) I like europan look and how they change everything... sure it will be hard to modify since its a non turbo - what i would do just Drop another 1" - get catback and intake, thats all and enjoy it.

Honestly from past experiences... I will never like a VW. All they do is say how much their german engineered vehicles are better then all and if they did so and so they would dominate all. Well talking to reliable sources... Audi/VW are utter garbage. My brother had an S4 and went through 2 trannies, and 3 pairs of turbos. This was moderate driving. He being a tech. at a dealership tells me how the new engines are made so cheaply.... he has already even had to replace a new S4 engine because the metal was rotting! Come on 30k for a 0-60 in 6 sec. I could get a Type-R and outrun it accompanyied by unheard of handling.
