my brother got his.

havent had a chance to rip it yet BUT boy is it a looker. Euro style front bumper and a GREAT interior. Konig soft leather racing seats with the R32 badges sown in. Hands great. 6speed. but VERY PRICEY. My brother is a VW fanatic....so he paid top dollar and there not budging on the price.

but its a great car, havent had a chance to really go nuts yet. still breaking it in.

My roomate said it was the meanest sounding v6 he ever heard. But for 30k it needs to be atleast 260 hp especially with the evo and sti around. I believe its rated at 241 hp.

Before I knew the Evo was coming here, I wanted an R32. I checked with my local dealer, but it was delay after delay... I've been following long-term reports from the UK mags I get. They love the power and grown-up appeal vs. STi/Evos, but have had some quality problems - headliner coming off, small trim coming off... A little disappointing, if you ask me. I almost expect that stuff in a Mitsu, but not in a modern VW.

From what I've seen the 0 - 60 is 6.5 sec......which is the same as a regular gti.....I hope I'm wrong on this 'cause that would just be a waste of 30g.

Yeah, supposedly it is somewhere in the 6 second range for 0-60. Pretty slow considering its V6 and AWD launch.

The V6 GTI should do something around that. A 1.8T with chip and exhaust should be better.

I would like to know how strong the V6 block really is, and by that I mean how far can you mod the car until it has stock like reliability, the evo is around 350-380whp, even more with ARP headstuds and bolts

It should be in the low 6s. The part where it owns a regular GTI is on the road course.
It's a nice car, although I'd swap the silver interior accents with the black ones.

It's not a turbo, it's a nuturally aspired 6. That means expensive to mod.
There are twin turbos over in Germany. I don't even wanna know how much they cost.
