He being a tech. at a dealership tells me how the new engines are made so cheaply.... he has already even had to replace a new S4 engine because the metal was rotting! Come on 30k for a 0-60 in 6 sec. I could get a Type-R and outrun it accompanyied by unheard of handling.

As far as speed and handling goes, even modded, it can't touch the newer generation of sport sedans and cars. But, its a tough, reliable, fun, good looking daily driver, and Quattro IV is *incredible* in the snow. I love cars as a car guy, and will never short change a vehicle. Im not saying Dubs or Audi's are without their problems, but to call them garbage? That's a bit of a stretch.

I have friends with S4s, some of them are putting out big HP, and I've been to numerous autox and these S4s well setup can kick some serious butt....trust me they run very well.
I've owned VWs before, they are very reliable and well built. If anything, japanese stuff seems to be built with (low cost and just good enough) in mind and everything seems to feel flimsy and lack the richness and elegance of european design.
Remember that Audi pioneered all wheel drive...
Dont believe everything you read on the web.

european dominance?.. your ignorance is amusing...
obviously your simple mind could not understand my statement. it was in referance to the quality of european automobiles not being any greater than high end japanese manufacturers...
so basically the fact that you have not seen something means it doesn't exist?
i've seen more than a handful of skylines on the road. and 3 that are at meets quite frequently. they exist here its just a matter of if you want one. if you really do u can have it.
if skylines don't exist here what are g35's you fool?
you should have been specific and stated that the gt-r model is non-existant in the US. but again you would be wrong.

hey stupid response for a stupid statement that's what I say...
european dominance is kind of vague if you ask me... even when it comes to quality. Quality of what? (design, components, materials used, production, labor)/?? be specific...

How can you compare a foreign japanese car that isn't even sold in the U.S. to german cars that have been sold, driven, modified and raced in the U.S.?
Your points don't make any sense because you are comparing a specific car that you know of or have seen to doesn't sell in the U.S. market and has no aftermarket here or isn't raced in any venue which has a large user base.
Again you're up **** creek without a paddle in this post...
okay should i continue the pissing contest?....
if you look back at the post where i stated "european dominance" you would see that i quoted the exact section of your post which i was refering to. your telling me my discription is vague, but yours is no differrent. all you say is they cheap out... (in what aspects? you left that unanswered as well so you don;t have the right to say anything about what i said.)
if you haven't seen a skyline yet, i really feel sorry for you. while they are rare, they are not impossible to come by.
thats the end of it.
r32 is a nice car but its in the wrong price bracket end of story.
and yea your wrong the skyline is still sold in japan.

You mean this statement:
I've owned VWs before, they are very reliable and well built. If anything, japanese stuff seems to be built with (low cost and just good enough) in mind and everything seems to feel flimsy and lack the richness and elegance of european design.
This is a known fact, take an average priced japanese car (let's say for arguments sake: a nissan maxima) and compare it to an average priced european car (let's say a passat).
You tell me which will have the nicer design and quality of interior. Ask a poll and see what kind of responses you will get. The germans are well know for creating high quality interiors with rich appointments, they focus more on styling cues.
The japanese counterpart focuses more on just good enough, efficiency and gadget appeal, this is how they can sell the maxima cheaper than the passat and also increase their margins.
Japanese makers have a different mentality than the German makers when it comes to auto design.
Do you see my point?

You made some valid points, but this is just silly.
I haven't seen any Skyline GT-Rs outside of magazines, movies, and/or video games. I thought about purchasing one through Motorex or whatever but damn....their freakin expensive as heck. Still bad *** cars though if you've got the money to mod them.
Oh, and I'll take a W8 4Motion Passat over the Maxima any day based off of looks and interior design alone. That's just me though

Yea ok, well you go waste your money on that overpriced w8. i would never pay anything close to that for that car. its only got 270hp out of a v8 pathetic.
the maxima on the other hand has the vq35de, which we all no is the same engine the 350z has. therefore we no its great potential for modding. twin turbo setups have shown well over 500whp and on the stock block in some cases. the passats interior is seriously not much nicer than the maximas and u can max out with all options at 32k on a maxima and the base price for a w8 is 38k how ****ty of a deal is that. sure u get 4-motion. fine but thats it thats all i give the passat.
