Modern rice is... Stance
And then the other thing is they give them a lower stance and put that extended tow pull on the back. So when they can't turn and go into a ditch or a billboard the tow truck has an easy place to pull them out off. LOL
I Dont mind if a car is low if its done right. I like the little/no wheel gap. I think that silver evo posted looks good and not over done. Maybe a little larger tire would help it tho.
I HATE the look of crazy camber, stretched tires and tucking wheels. That just makes me wanna puke.

Its def not over, in fact its actually coming back. I see alot of car with the underbody neons driving around again and honestly if its a nicely done car with just underbody lights it can actually look good if not overdone.
As far as the stanced look goes, it def has grown on me. Im not talking about crazy cambered, super stretched tire camber. Im talking about being dropped on coils running barely any camber, no wheel gap kinda stance. I IMO would rather see a car dropped on a nice set of wheels with no wheel gap than some guy that wanted wheels on his car and doesnt think about size or offset, throws them on and they dont sit flush with the fenders and his car look like a damn monster truck because he doesnt wanna spend money to lower it.
IMO a stanced car done right is nowhere near rice as I consider rice, a car that has cheap, stupid mods done to it to look "cool" I consider a car that has horrible offsets and monster wheel gap way more "rice" than a car dropped on expensive coilovers and nice wheels. Most of the time, like that silver Evo, most people arent giving up any kind of performance value just because they are lower and stanced doesnt mean slammed to the ground and cant drive fast.

I have a friend who does a great job at making his cars look beautiful. But, to your point, it is entirely form over function. Yes, lowered cars look great (assuming the wheel well does not overhang the actual wheel) - but is it worth the cost of worrying excessively every time you go over a speed bump? Or when you approach a hill? Honestly, for me, it doesn't.
To each their own, but good grief I would be driven bat**** insane if every time I turned the wheel hard I could hear it rubbing against the wheel well because it was simply too big.

Being a younger guy with a Evo annoying . My car is setup nicely and a perfect functional height. I like fast cornering. Being younger I tend to be around the stance people. I just don't understand it... Specially when they stance out a performance car and slap a "static" sticker on the back window. Total fail and just want this fad to go away.

Personally I agree with this thread. camber ride height and tire width have there place. for me as soon as they become a fashion statement and stop improving preformance, im out.
i ride a little low and have some increased suspension stiffness as well as anti roll and chassis bracing. but all of that together gives my car a much more planted feel. Id like to eventually go a bit wider on my wheel width maybe throw a couple more ponies under the hood. but other than that Mitsubishi made a fine product when they built the evo VII and IX no need to muck it up

I guess this is kind of like the whole "lifting" thing. I guess you just need to sit 10 feet higher but never actually bring your truck/jeep/SUV anywhere actually considered off road. Just makes you look stupid.
A "slammed" Evo is a waste.. but an Evo with nice fitment is appealing you can have an aggressive looking car and still maintain function without it being on the ground and out of control.. I also think the silver evo looks just fine. and +1 for the "drifter inspired" comment that couldn't of been more true!
