audi s4 or rs4?
lately ive been thinking about the future and ive been looking to audi for my next car, i have decided either an s4 or rs4, i like the rs4 styling and motor better but at a curb weight very close to 4000 lbs i worry about the weight and the s4 weights closer to an evo but doesnt have the engine option currently that i would be looking for. since the rs4 has close to 400 hp stock and the s4 has about 330, since currently im running e85 i would like to stick closer to the 400 and above than downgrading. anyone have any thoughts and opinions?
Depends on how much you want to spend. I looked at the RS4's but they were going for more than I wanted to pay. So I picked up a low mileage 335i that looked brand new and have been enjoying it immensely. Also, with just a tune on 93 octane, the 335 can pick up 100 torque for 400 at the wheels. THat's on a mostly stock car...no exhaust.
oh yeah they are very expensive lol but i like the look and the luxury of them granted i havent been in either and the only audi i have driven blew the oil cooler in the radiator while the stealership i was buying my car from duct taped it back together. it was an 06 a4 2.0 t it was very nice and pretty quick. i think when the time comes i'll have a very long list of cars to test drive lol
It appears there are only 16 E85 stations in all of Arizona.
As far as I can tell, Audi doesn't make either the S4 or RS4 as a flex fuel (E85) vehicle.
They do make the A3 and A4 in E85, in Europe, but I'm not sure they're available in the US.
Did you mean 15% ethanol? (E15).

Yes, hydrocarbons are "organic".

The RS4 is a great car...there's much to like about it. A couple things need to be considered with hosesty when looking at that car though. First, are you financially able/prepared to maintain a $70k car? No, they dont cost that much used, but the cost of maintenance doesn't depreciate along with the car itself. Also, since it is aging, it will have increased service needs than when it was new. Check with a local Audi dealer on service costs to get an idea what operating costs will run you. Second, this is a German car we're talking about. If you haven't had any wrench time with them, many things about the way they're built will leave you frustrated at the design of certain things compared to Japanese cars. Not to mention a statistically worse reliability history. They are a pita to work on for numerous reasons (from my background on working with Honda, Toyota, Mitsu, some Euro which I avoid by choice).
Lastly, modding costs (if you're planning on modding). When I switched from an EK to my Evo, many tuning parts prices were shocking! And an Evo 8 was a $30k car. Again, if you plan to mod it, look around at what stuff costs for this car..
That's about all the advice I have for someone in your boat.

If you are going to upgrade, a 2015 S3 might be the ticket if you can afford them. Otherwise, if you are willing to compromise on handling, you can't go wrong with a 335i BMW.
German cars do cost more to maintain unless they are new and under warranty/service plan.

I really love the 335i I got. The suspension is way more floaty than the Evo (that's a non-technical term), but the car seduces you with its sexiness. It's a much better DD than the Evo. It's a big boy car. Just took it up to San Fran last weekend. After 2 hours in the Evo, your ears would ring. The 335 is like silk.
That's not to say I don't love the Evo, I do. I just didn't realize how much I was going to love the 335.
