Oh, I just saw an article from earlier this morning on car throttle saying this wasn't confirmed.

Wait for ITV or Sky to pick up Jeremy, Hammond, and May, get a new Stig (Orange Stig? Green Stig?), and a show called High Gear shows up in the fall?

I loved James May's reaction in that video above. Sayonara BBC. Keep the trio intact!

The BBC has no option but to fire him, and frankly, the only person to blame for all this is Clarkson. He must have known this was coming after he had time to sober up and reflect on what he did. It doesn't matter if Clarkson is the golden goose; he physically assaulted an individual associated with the show. He committed a crime. If the BBC did nothing, they'd be sending the clear message that you can be a grade-A douchebag and get away with it as long as you make them money. It's sad to see Top Gear end, but my thoughts are **** Clarkson for this.

Edit: As for all the people crying this is political correctness, bull****. Clarkson himself reported the incident. The producer didn't. Clarkson himself has acknowledged he was out of line. He committed a crime. I don't care what kind of work you do, if you punched a coworker because you were pissed off at the lack of a hot meal, you would be fired. Given Clarkson's position in the show, this is more akin to a boss punching an employee because they were upset at their work. Would you think it's OK for a guy to punch is assistant because the assistant made his coffee wrong? I don't think so. Jesus, I swear some people think Clarkson walks on water or that Top Gear cures AIDS.

"You know... I can't help but wonder... what the real story is. To let a top star of the show get away? FOLLOW THE MONEY! What if Jeremy wanted out... and they cooked this all up. Boost ratings, increase sales of syndicated DVD & sales. What if Jeremy wanted to take off a year? Let's cook up a way out that will make the return even MORE watched? What if Jeremy has a drinking problem... (gee... that wouldn't be a stretch) and his behavior got worse... so they said either you are fired OR... you get fired ... go to rehab... and we will welcome you back. There are many possibilities that sound crazy but... make more sense than letting dollars walk out the door PERMANENTLY. Remember his job... his skill .... the producers jobs... they are showmen... and this is a show. Time will tell."

I think TopGear is done in current format and on BBC. Hammond and May are still bound to other BBC programs, Hammond has Science of Stupid that is on air, and May had some other science show too, whilst Clarkson was exclusive to TopGear and his DVDs.
Time will tell what will happen.

With Jeremy Clarkson fired and Season 22 brought to an early end, the hangar that once held the show's live audience is now empty.
