with the money you are going to put on X, and because you had previously an X, the reasonable thing is the GTR (older or newer)... you will not be able to enjoy at full range the EVO project because you already know what you are going to do. over 50% of the joy somebody receive from a project is reading, analysing, collecting and evaluating informations... another 20% is the evaluation of the results that you mange to have.
with the evo choice, you will lose that...

you should go for GTR.
or at least an evo 8 (9 should be you final choice for various, unrelated to the subject, reasons) or maybe a scooby...
