Rode in a brand new Z06 at the Texas World Speedway a few weeks ago. The car handled awesome but oil temps got to 312 F and the car went into a limp mode.

A time coming soon!

Ring Time Has Officially Been Completed

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2015/06/...een-completed/

Weeks ago, eagle-eyed enthusiasts in Germany spotted the 2015 C7 Corvette Z06 entering the colloquial “Green Hell.” From video evidence, it appeared the 2015 Z06 was completing a few hot laps in preparation for an official time around the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife.

According to the latest report from Corvette Blogger, that is exactly the case, and it has been confirmed the 2015 C7 Corvette Z06 has made a successful lap around the ‘Ring with video evidence. That news comes straight from the mouth of lead Corvette engineer, Tadge Juechter. He revealed the news during a regular “Ask Tadge” session on the Corvette Forums to the delight of fans.

Regarding the Nürburgring time, Juechter had this to say specifically:

…it is the quickest car around the track we know how to make. That has been validated by numerous third parties. Last week, we were finally able to confirm the performance of the car on a continuous lap of the Nurburgring. We are putting together the press release and will have the lap time and video out shortly. I can tell you we were more than satisfied with the results.

It appears the third time is a charm indeed, as an official lap time for the 2015 Corvette Z06 was thwarted twice before. Previously, mother nature stepped in to hold the Corvette team back with rain, while the second attempt resulted in a wrecked 2015 Z06 after skidding over fluids from another vehicle.

Is there a benchmark? Surely. The true time to beat is the 7:19.64 set by the 2012 Corvette ZR1, and we think that’s a no-brainer. The true test to ignite the Corvette versus GT-R rivalry will be undercutting Godzilla’s time of 7:08.69.

We’ll know soon enough.
