Miatas are swapped with everything from the 4-cylinder in the S2000 to a variety of V8s.

I don't think you can go wrong with either car, both are extremely versatile and well built cars with super cheap performance parts. Not sure about the swap options for a miata but people will put anything in an E30. Our cars are both DD's, so at the end of the day I prefer the look and roominess of my E30 vs his miata with no legroom and a shoebox trunk. To each their own. It's always fun when a 350z or an FRS/BRZ owner yells "WTF is in that car?!"
E30 wins over NC for cheap aftermarket though. NC aftermarket is pretty limited right now, development is really just now starting... limited aftermarket means expensive aftermarket.

yeah, DD changes things, I could never have a Miata as a DD.

I do agree with you that the E30 looks better, but thats not a big factor for me in a track car. I'm surprised there's anyone that has even the slightest interest in cars that doesn't know what an E30 is though...

yeah, but unless you can fab yourself, its typically not cheap, especially for an NC

I was told the NC doesn't even have very many tuning options right now, is that right? I was kinda-sorta looking at one for sale, but was steered away by a fellow Miata enthusiast. Something about the fuel system being a hassle to upgrade, so nobody really gets much into tuning. He says forced induction isn't really a viable option for them, at this time.

I don't imagine swaps are cheap regardless.

there's ecutek, people more or less have it figured out now. the problem was a lot of the definitions are wrong, so now people figured out what they actually are.

fuel system isn't anything special, no more difficult than any other car.

at this point, the only limitation for boost is cooling. thats if you wanna track your car, if just street driven, its fine.

No for sale thread, etc. Can't find My old build thread, but I can put something together.

The interior is in my garage and it has an SCCA/NASA roll bar....So definitely not for the average consumer.

I was looking at getting newer NC miata cause mine is in such sh*t condition, and they're still kinda pricey. so that + turbo kit (want at least some power) puts me into Evo prices... so Evo...

But an Evo isn't an NC Miata with a turbo kit.

lol, you make a solid point... maybe I should just stick it out with my sh*tty miata for now to see if the next BRZ gets a turbo version...

ps
I know you're being mostly sarcastic, but I'm having a track car crisis right now...

I was being semi-serious. I think a Miata is a better track car because it rewards and promotes skilled driving. Cars like the Evo hide bad habits.
