track car suggestions / discussion
I've had two Miatas, so I'm also speaking from experience. I agree the Miata is very communicative. The Evo/STI/GTR is a "cheater" car in the sense that mashing the pedal results in fast lap times.
yeah, I'm aware... still kinda want an evo... maybe I should buy an evo, keep the miata, and sell the BMW? but then I can't drive 2 cars to the track at the same time
On the Miata forum, the motto was "the answer is always Miata". Here, the motto could be "the answer is always Evo". So, yes, having both is not wrong.
For what it is, an economy car turned into an AWD rally-inspired performance sedan, the Evo is communicative.
However, it can't hold a candle, in that respect, to a small, light (1000+ lbs lighter) RWD, NA sports car.

weight is a great thing , but not everything.... There is a lot more in this game just throwing out weight numbers...
Evo is just as good, but in my opinion a lot better track car then the miata, so just as communicative if not more. You just need to understand it. Which many people think they do, since hence my point, its very easy to go fast with it even a very first time. How do you call that other then a great communication between driver, and the car?
Miata is a great car for what it is, and CHEAP. My opinion only advantage goes for the Miata being cheaper to run. End of story.
I have even drove the Miata based kit car, and i am telling you in my personal experience , the Evo is just as communicative , there's no difference as long as you do understand the car. In fact this little beast kit car actually very snappy , and there for less communicative vs the base Miata, but a lot lighter.
I drove plenty of miata with diff. set ups etc. so as Evos.

this is the Mazda based kit car , me having a short fun in it . It is a real fun car.

that always happens as you getting higher, and higher powered cars. Dont be fooled, as soon as Miata gets hefty power gain ( compere to stock Miata) suffers a same thing, smaller reaction time for the driver.
wrong.
