track car suggestions / discussion
It's great to see more people getting into the hobby, but man... I hate traffic lolIn other news, I just sat in a friend's Rx7 FD. Man, it feels like a glove but that might just be his racing seat. I'm sold. Though, the car does smell like it's 20 years old...
I loved my old FD and I have often considered getting another one. The car's lines are timeless.
so back to evo questions. you guys brought up tcase and acd and stuff. is there anything that could be done to check the health of these other than the obvious whine of a bad tcase? is there anything to look at with the ACD?
also, whats a good compression number for an evo?

I was unable to get it to work, but you can use EvoScan to cycle the actuators of the ACD.
You can also use it to read any codes that a normal OBDII code reader will not catch.
I would also suggest holding down the throttle and turning the ignition to on (do not start the car) and see if the pump actually primes the system and pressurizes the ACD.

I don't have a Tactrix cable so EvoScan is out...
about the ACD pump pressurizing, will I be able to hear that or am I looking for something else when doing the ignition on while holding down the throttle thing?
at far as the transfer case, just make sure there's no whine?

AFAIK the only way to tell if the transfer case is having issues is with sound, but I'm no mechanic.
For the pump, you will hear it and see the volume in the reservoir drop as it fills the tank.

edit:
nvm, looks like a relocation kit. is it near the air filter / driver headlight?

On USDM 05-06, it's far right, below fuse box, to the right of air box. Whole pump unit is below that as well. Since it doesn't have to serve the rear diff as well.
