Man... Evos do not age well... Money really is all in the engine and drivetrain...
And what is it with every idiot and his mother taking off the undertray? 2 evo's on the lot and neither had an undertray... And pretty much every Evo on CL has no under tray...

Why would anyone with a daily-driven Evo? Laziness, I'd guess.
I'd put one back on, if I had it. Despite how much trouble it is LOL
No issues with cooling.
I don't run one because the car didn't come with it, plus I'm building a splitter.
So much better than OEM and it's 100 clips. Agreed.
I have an OEM under tray. Comes off and goes back on in minutes thanks to speed nuts and Allen head bolts. It only took removing the 40 stock clips once to drive down to Ace Hardware and get good hardware...
splitter is obviously better, but undertray to no under tray still make a good bit of difference
My vote is s2k for track. Absolute weapon, and very scalable from complete novice to pro. I feel like people discount it for the NA engine, but apply some moderate boost to it (supercharged or turbo) and you have something thats plain fast everywhere.
I see there is some excitement about skylines amongst some of you in the past few pages. Living in the deep northern destitute that is Canuckistan, I've seen them around quite a bit...r32,r33, and in the past couple years r34. They're great cars but take the issues of tracking an evo and double it. Parts are rare / in jdm land, but surprisingly not that much more than a lot of evo parts. The car is complex and old AF especially the r32 with a lot of hydraulics and finely aged jdm rubber lines (delete hicas ASAP on those). The turbos make the ceramic efr turbos look bulletproof. Worse yet when the compressor fails they tend to shard into engine. But really....the penultimate issue is oil pump failures. Its funny that the rb25det are actually more reliable than the rb26dett. Most of the skyline track cars up here are gtt / gts, not gtrs.
Also we have the older evos, and will be getting the evo 7 pretty soon. Unless mitsu paint quality has taken a giant leap forward since the 4/5/6 I think we will be seeing a lot of fading/molting usdm evos soon. Almost every one imported has paint issues.

my god, i agree. speed nuts??
i'll take your word for it. i've tracked the car both ways and have noticed no difference in oil temps. the front bumper still directs a ton of air into the oil cooler and it's duct. i can see air from underneath affecting it, possibly. but so far, so good on the temps.
