and lets face it, most s2k owners are hard parkers... unless its a guy over 50... then it prolly gets raped at the track every weekend...

At a couple of track days this dude in a rough looking stripped down old civic with a built 2 litre has gone past me like I was standing still. I once saw it go side by side with a M3 down the straight. That's what I'd build as an ugly cheap sleeper if I couldn't have my Evo

The grass is always greener. I am sure if OP gets an S2000 he will occasionally wish he had gotten an Evo instead. IMO, the S2000 styling is not aging particularly well. Especially once the baby NSX, and S1000 start showing up.

I believe it. They are light and have EXCELLENT suspension (up until 2001, when they to struts up front). Double wishbone ftw.

Definitely user preference. I think the old nsx, fd, s2k, and 98-01 Integras will never get old. Great lines on all of them.

while the grass is greener on the other side statement is most likely true about me

I completely disagree about the s2k styling not aging well... I think it still looks perfectly modern, and its a car that first went on sale in 2000... actually I think it looks better than most new cars. and as far as style aging between the s2k and an evo, thats a no contest, especially if you take the whole car into account and not just exterior appearance

I just think the S2K looks "odd" with the hard top, which is how I would want one here in the rainy PNW. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

I think this hardtop looks orgasmic...

If I get a hardtop, it'll be this style. but I doubt I will cause its a lot of $$$ for really no performance gain

Don't forget you will sit lower with a fixed back racing seat.

Well whatever you get, you should plan a trip to The Ridge next spring. I will take you for a lap in my evo and you can take me for a lap in your S2K.

^sounds good, I'm in... just maybe not my first time out as I'll still be learning the car...

and there's still a small chance I might end up in an evo...

edit:
unless you're ok with me going slow..
